A couple of years ago it was HIS year..

Remember "Heads High", "Tek Sumt'ing an' Wave", "Man ya shoulda seen di position mi uh f**k yuh 'oman inna last night!", "she la la la la la bom boom she lay, I an' I uh **** a HOT gyal today", "gi' it away, gi' it away, tell dem Mr Vegas sey..." he also did a song with DMX, and Sean Paul "here Comes da BOOM"... he was everywhere a couple of years back.

Then there was that song I loved "Sweet sweet Jamaica dem wan' fi mash up..." I forget all the words but in it he talks about all di corruption goin' on down YAAD. More of the lyrics go ".. when we reach up, nuh man wan' hype up..." and "... nuff uh dem uh claim sey dem 'ave shotta friend, but real shotta nuh par with nuh..." something! Mi fi-get di word dem!

An' di BIG TUNE! "sey mi nah sucky ducky fi wear nuh name brand!!!"

what's he up to now? I've heard a couple of tracks on my passa passa CD dem, he's on a couple of dub plate dem... but which paat 'im dey right now?

I saw him live @ Master T's blocko party in Toronto @ Much Music a while back, the same one Laruen Hill di play when she first did mash up wit' di Marley! When she cut off all she hair an' 'ing! I fell in love with Vegas' MOVEMENTS lol... I like how he wines... it looks as though he cyan do a t'ing.. lol...

For real though I think his voice is sexy and I miss his presence in dancehall.

Dat is a good question Bashment!! I tink dat Mr.Vegas is where Yellow Man, Admiral Bailey, Tiger, Major Mackereal an all a di proformers dat weh noh here fram fi YEARS deh!!

Bashment him a tek time trikkle back. Don't you know his new song "Pull up?" I love the video too. If u haven't seen it I can send it to you. And he's been working out..hehehe.

No princess a no vegas dat. Mi seh mi love Kevin Lyttle song dem but if you watch di video or listen really good is Spragga Benz!!!!Plus Vegas voice no as deep as Spragga. Mr Vegas new song and video is "Pull up"

Yeah that track is OK. But it's not HOT like the ones from a couple years ago! Remember? He was HOT! Everything he was pushin' was HOT. That new track is mediocre at best. There's another one I have on a Passa Passa CD that's pretty good. I guess I just miss his promenance on the scene! Don't you remember? "If a gyal uh tek 2 man inna one night den we know..." LOL I miss that cat!

I never saw the video so I don't know only heard the song playing.

Wow... me cyan believe me eyes! Vegas not even close to gone... though maybe eclipsed a likkle by Ele, Vybez, etc these days.

Since the tunes yuh talk of deh's lots more... here are a few I can tink of:

Pull Up (pon Coolie dance riddim--BIG tune now!)

Tamale (B-side of Pull Up... seen it on some compilations lately)

Fatness (pon Forensic riddim--this riddim dat bwoy a produce himself--with hits for Ghost, Beenie, Sean Paul, and Ele! Great riddim, my records are worn out!)

A nuh di same One (pon Buzz--big club hit for us 2 years back)

You're Mine I'm Yours (pon hammer riddim--my 3rd fave on that riddim after Beenie No Underage, and TOK dem bwoy deh)

Uh Huh (pon Masterpiece riddim--not that strong a track, imho)

Supertight (Sign Riddim--we play this one in the club-still hot--alongside the top tracks Beenie: My Dickie, Ele: F-U Sign, Ward 21: Rhyme pt2)

Damn Right (pon Double Jeopardy riddim)

Who could forget the Hype hype remake of Under Mi Sensi (pon Clappas riddim with Hollow Point and Alozade-- GREAT tune!)

war (on bollywood riddim--anudder riddim he produce himself--an gave Beenie a BIG hit with Red Red)

Territory (on Famine riddim)

Ina Di Ghetto (pon mentally disturbed--thats year 2000 so getting old)

Right now the biggest riddim we play in the club here is Red Alert... Vegas has a song on it but I don't remember it.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot... last year (2003) he did Weed Day--we play that still sometimes over the 50 Cent beat... "hey J.A., it's a weed day, an we noh give a F a what di cops seh..." It was originally on the Forensic riddim too.

And don't forget Vegas and Ele... Bun it all day, bun it all night, it's all good, it's all right...." A couple years old, but long since Heads High.

This is all I could tink of right quick...

So... a wha mi seh? Vegas is ALIVE an a Kickin' it!

You're right I forgot about some of those, even though I was listening to dem tune dey dis weekend! LOL... I guess like I said before his PROMENANCE has been over shadowed. People nuh call 'im name tuh all dat nuh more!

Dem tune yuh mention I 'ave dem fi mi own personal listening, but when yuh dey in one club how often yuh hear dem track run? Mi neva really hear dem tuh all dat. Even'im ol' one dem rarely get play now uh days. People dey pon Sean Paul, ELE, and dem man dey! Mi nuh see people hype up Vegas like 'im deserve.

At one point, any dub plate 'im put out get TOO much play, and ANY video 'im dey in, on reggae channel dem in TO. Now wha gwan? I see one new video, dey PON Toronto1 ONCE!

Yuh see wha' mi uh sey?

I still rate him and we play vegas for our likkle reggae crowd up here.

Hey BG: I counted last night an we a play 4 Vegas tunes inna our set (10-2:15). (compared with 10 Ele and 15,459,002 Sean Paul) (j/k)

I played Tamale--they don't really get it dung a London yet but we can work pon dat! ;-) It's a hype chune (the dancehall version).

Mi glad sey yuh hype up di man UK, cuz ya done know mos' uh di man dem cyan't bodda!

I was at that flea market I told you about in my e-mail and I got a new CD, dubplates jus' mek like last week an' ting!

Vegas dey pon one! It sound nice, clever... di t'ing nuh 'ave nuh rahtid track listin' though, lost di man uh los' di sittin'! So when him burn off di CD dem, dem nuh have no track listing. Jus' sme cova wit di riddims names dey pon it! Foolishness!

You know what Vegas should do?

He should do like LEXXUS, he should come on a BIG track with another reggae artist and 1 hip hop artist, bring his popularity back a bit. It worked for LEXX cuz Dj dem cyan't stop run dat tune dey wit Waynie & CNN since last summer dem a run dat tune dey an' it still not old! Like Dude Wit Beenie and Ms Thing.. that's been running from before last summer over here!

Dunno yuh right! Mi tink seh him a try di producer route--like Alozade, Ward 21, and others. I only know of 3 riddims he do, but good ones!

Which flea market was that? Yuh mean in a PM or email?
