Re: African Dance

i'mma add some more.............glad you like 'em Jammie.

now here's an authentic kwasa kwasa dance.....aka....the infamous soukous!!! these dances are usually performed to west african french music... (from one of the "Congo's) the style called "makossa" or "soukous" (derived from the french word for "shake"). makossa/soukous is comparable to "SOCA".

Re: African Dance

What I think is very interesting is that it looks similar to Jamaican men dancing, but the music is TOTALLY different. I actually like that traditional music a lot. My classes are west African dance too and the music she brings is amazing, I love it.

Re: African Dance

Have you guys ever looked for dance classes? They're all over the place here! However, I like self-taught to a certain degree too. Like I'll watch these videos over and over and try it myself too. The dance I'm learning in class is much more traditional than these videos.
