Hello mon,
Need some help with some song titles. Please pardon the spellings. 1) Rolle Call Rolle Call Row. That is how the song starts or that is what it sounds to me. Fast, upbeat song. 2) I am going to get some ***** tonight. Medium paced song with some beats. 3) Caribean Anthem. Fast and slow musiq. Always playing at clubs. Appreciate all your help in identifiying the songs and if you could direct me somewhere where I can find out other stuff played at clubs. |

Re: Song Titles
Thanks RD. I am going to see if I can find the ring tone. I found it at Best Buy Saturday on Raggae Dancehall Hits #35 or something like that. It is actually called Ring Ding and it is by Loc.

Re: Song Titles
Yeah, that's the one. LOC originally titled it Crazy Frog, but ran into legal issues and had to change the name of the song. It's amazing how popular that track was all over the world. Here it never had the same impact, because people didn't know the cartoon frog that it was based on. We played it a few times, back when Applause (the riddim it's on) was really big. The reaction was split between "wow, you have THAT song" and "WTF are you playing" lol. Believe it or not, we NOW get the odd request for it. Applause riddim won't die thanks to Sean Paul and his late-as-usual version (Temperature).

Re: Song Titles
We put exactly 1 chorus of it on last years mix CD... and I mean like 15 seconds! Just enough to not be too annoying, lol. It was okay in VERY small doses. And they finally know the dance over here... we ran the tune this past saturday night and all the dancer dem a do di crazy frog dance.
I cut it after 20 seconds still though, lol! |

Re: Song Titles
You know, a lot of those Jamaican songs make me say WTF the first time. After they grow on you, I change my mind and get hooked.

Re: Song Titles
It's like the Seasame Street song. Not only do I say WTF; but also ONLY IN JAMAICA.
Thanks for the scoop. I will check that out. |
