First Trip to Negril - Jamaica Talk

I've been to Ochee lots of times but this summer I will be going to Negril for the first time. I hear it's a lot different from Ochee. I know this sounds funny but everytime I go to JA I feel like it just has to be Ochee. (I love it so much)
So can anyone tell me where I should go to have fun and where's the best place to stay. I will be there a week 7/4/09-7/11/09. Also is anyone else going at that time?

LOL SJ I know how you feel cuz my first 3 trips were Negril and I didn't know how I could possibly go anywhere else!! But when I did I discovered it was WAAAAAY worth it.

What kind of stuff do you want to do and what kinds of places you like to stay???

I like to do a lot of walking, I like to mingle with the locals. I love to eat. I must be moving and shaking at all times. I like to go out and dance. My hotel does not have to be 5-star but i do like nice, clean and resonable. I'm really trying to visualize Negril. I hear the beaches are beautiful. I'm looking forward to spending a little time there also. I can't wait to go. Thanks for your help.

Well you can walk for 7 miles in Negril.....the beach is called 7-Mile beach. There are billions of hotels of all price ranges...you can check them at Negril.com - Negril Jamaica. That site is a great resource to find hotels. Has the Jungle nightclub for your dance needs, has a couple strip clubs LOL, cliff diving, pretty much everything.

JC, with 3 weeks and a few wake-ups to go before the Negril April 2009 link-up, I'm getting in the mood by reading Banana Shout by Mark Conklin. You gotta read this book! It's fictional, but based on actual places in Negril, which though having fictional names in the book, you'll instantly recognize. See you there!
