Electricity in Jamaica, what should I expect?

I know you guys love my threads so I decided to make another one.

Electricity in Jamaica will be very important to me and after looking online I became more confused about what type of plugs and voltages they use on the island. I read somewhere to expect 110v US style outlets but in other places there may be 220v style outlets. In order to keep my camera charged what should I prepare for in case of electricity in Jamaica?

Way back in 1994 I went to Nigeria with my dad and sister and noticed electricity over there goes out a lot. My dad even had to bribe someone at the local power station to turn it on for our neighborhood. Is electricity sporadic in Jamaica? That would be interesting to know.

I hope I can travel as well as Anthony Bourdain does on his travel shows.

A 110V plug similar to the one you use in the states is fine. You wont have to bride the power company. They only places you will find 220V outlets are places where high consumption equipment is likely to be used (e.g. electric stove, washing machine, etc).
