Ocho Rios - Hotels

Going to Jamaica for the first time in March 2005. Going to be at the newly remodeled Sandals in Ocho Rios. Can someone help me on where to go for fun around there? I know the falls are a must. Is travel safe there? My girlfriend and I enjoy nightlife. Anything around there that's fun?

Thanks.

Re: Hotels in Negril or Ocho Rios

I've only stayed at one AI in Negril because I prefer to NOT stay in AI's.
It was Pointe Village and it was real nice, but a little bit far removed from the night life and the town. Do a search on here for Pointe Village because there are several reviews on it.

It's for my parents 33rd anniversary. They have a house in MoBay but I wanted them to go somewhere other than the house. Just for the weekend of there anniversary. I will do a search for that.

Thanks

They'd probably enjoy Pointe Village then because its away from the other places. It has a private beach, and its a HUGE complex. Some people actually live in the villas there too so its well taken care of. Happy Anniversary to them, and good luck!

The Riu resorts are reasonably priced and offer a full range of amenities. Hm....how long have they been married? They might want Hedonism!!!!!

Talking Sandals Ocho Rios

Hi! I'm new here and was looking around the web for a forum about Jamaica. We just booked our vacation at Sandals Ocho Rios for January 2006. Has anyone ever been there, and if so what what did you think about it? So excited now that it's official!

I was there for 2 weeks at tthe beginning of September. I stayed at the Riveria side which is nearest the beach. It was really nice. You have got to go the Piano bar and see Jo he is great and Estick (the Piano man) they put on a great night and its open until 2.

All teh staff were really friendly and nice I will def go back.

Discount Hotels in Ocho Rios

I am looking for a decent hotel in the Ocho Rios area must be reasonable. Nothing to fancy just cheap and clean for a couple of nights while I'm attending a wedding. When I go I usually stay in MoBay at my parents house but I don't feel like traveling back and forth.

Re: Discount Hotels in Ocho Rios

Try Rooms on the Beach. It is the same area as Jamaica Grande. It has a small pool, small beach, but according to a friend the rooms are nice. Don't know how much because she got it at auction. I will PM the front desk number to you.
