LMAO!!!! MissB, in July I won a trip from a nightclub here to go to Sumfest. It was real quick, 4 days, but who cares. That's what made me fall off the wagon. Second time in 3 years I won a trip there.

Shy I feel your pain....lucky for me I can't afford airfare like we have up here. I think its a blessing in disguise cuz my child would be motherless if it were different. LOL

Let's just be real about this ****...you NEVER get Jamaica out of your system once it gets in. Some people go and never really "get it" but those of us who do... it's a lifelong thing.

but, shy, to answer your question...it is easier to lesses the GRIP it has if you don't visit ETJ ... which is exactly what happened to me. And within a month of being back on ETJ, I'm totally hooked again.

I have NEVER stopped thinking and dreaming about going back to JA. And I have many fond memories and friends there, so it never really left me. But the intensity is much stronger when you start hanging with all these other JA lovers.

My record what 4 times within a one year period. My first summer I went twice in less than two months. And then in Dec and then in April. I was in love both with the island and with a Jamaican. Silly girl silly girl.

This is like a freakin support group! LOL

Well..I've been there 5 times in the past 1 1/2 years

...but mi on that awful wagon for the moment!!

MissB . . . you're so "right on" with your comments! I went to JA 6 years ago and lost my heart. For a year after, JA was all I thought about. I dug my heels in and refused to go back. This past summer . . . stupid me, I went back -- thinking I could go back and it "be different". LOL. Stupid, stupid me. I went in June. I went in August. I'll be there in January . . . and I already know I'll be there in June AND July (Sumfest) 2007!

I don't drink, but JA makes me feel drunk!!! I say stupid things, I do stupid things, and -- the only difference is I remember EVERYTHING and can't wait to go back and do it all over!!!

I'm on the wagon right now. What I had in JA is here with me now. Plus, I am recovering financially from those last 14 trips in one year and the phone bills.

I feel the tug every once in while when I think of all the family and friends we left behind. For now, though, the urge is very small and controllable.
