I've stayed there twice, Missy. The last time was between Christmas and New Year's last year. It is a nice place. The rooms are fairly large and views from the balconys are perfect. Nice beaches. Nice grounds. Two pools, one with a bar. Hot tub. A lobby bar, main bar, and disco bar. Food was very nice at the main restaurant. Also had a grill. I love the staff. The bartenders are really nice....Kevin, Patrick, etc. Watersports staff is the bomb: Kevin, Raneil (watch out for that boy!!!), I forget the supervisor's name....something with an "M" and a few others. Entertainment staff was good: Leon, Antoniette, Kirk (all 3 came from FDR Pebbles). Access to all kinds of boats for riding, fishing, etc. and wave runners. We had a blast there. It is right on the hip strip so you can walk to pretty much anything. After a huge hotel party, we walked down to Margaritville and Coral Cliffs on New Year's Eve (more like New Year's Day as it was 3 a.m. before we even left). Also walked downtown from there.

Anything else I left out?

Oh, and it is small enough to be intimate, yet big enough to have lots to do. In a week, I got to know pretty much everyone from staff to guests.

Re: Best birthday present ever!!!

I was at Royal Decameron 6 years ago and loved it! In fact, when I went to JA last summer, I was seriously disappointed that I couldn't book my room there. I ended up at Sunspree, and although I wasn't disappointed, I know I would've enjoyed RD much better. Like JG said, it's small enough to be intimate and get to know other staff and guests -- but big enough to have plenty to do.

Lilly, when were you at Sunspree last summer? I spent some of last summer there.

Yes -- I was at Sunspree from 6/16 - 6/21. I was at The Wexford from 8/18 - 8/21. I enjoyed Sunspree -- would take my kids there. But, I'm hoping to go back to JA (after my January trip) in June -- and I'm thinking I'd like to be at Decameron.

Oh, I just missed you. I was there July visiting Jomo.

I think when we go back, if we can't stay with his family, we'll stay at Decameron.

Missy, I meant it when I said watch out for Raneil. That boy is 18 (maybe 19 by now) going on superstud.
