Good restaurants in Ochi

Anyone know of any? I plan on treating my fiance to a special night out, since he's worked really hard with the whole visa process thing, AND he's put up with MORE THAN ENOUGH of my isht over the past month or so...I know this is small, but I know it would mean so much...Thanks

Re: Good restaurants in Ochi

When are you going? I will check with Dwayne tonight when I talk to him - he is from there, so I will find out where he would think is a treat!

Re: Good restaurants in Ochi

Do you have any of his friend's phone numbers? If I had a question like that about Jomo, I would call either his sister or a few of his friends.

Re: Good restaurants in Ochi

Okay, just talked to Dwayne, and the first 2 that he mentioned were:

Spring Gardens - on the Ocho Rios bypass (coming up from IRIE FM???)

Bi Bi Bits - Main Street, Pineapple Place

He did also mention The Ruins.

Re: Good restaurants in Ochi

I'll be down there in about 3 weeks....and come to think of it, I do have one of his friends' number...I just have to get my mind right to talk to him--his patois is heavy and fast, and it's hard for me to keep up w/ him!! lol

I loved the Ruins while I was there.. It can be very romantic, with the waterfalls setting in the background. They also have beautiful gardens to walk through, after you finish your meal.

Is that the place near Crane Ridge Resort? If so, what are their prices like? Reasonable? What kind of cuisine are they serving?

Re: Good restaurants in Ochi

I'm not quite sure of its location, since it was my first time in Ochi and I only stayed for a few days there....They serve jamaican and chinese cuisine and its on the more expensive side as far as restaurants in the area go. I don't remember exactly but I think $20-$30 per meal.

We actually went for lunch and they had an all you can eat buffet for $15 which was really good and worth the money. My boyfriend who is Jamaican loved it.

Re: Good restaurants in Ochi

The Ruins is nice, EVITAS is also very nice its up on the hill and you overlook Ochi, its especially nice at night. Owner is Eva Myers, she is very nice Italian Lady, she owned the villa we got married at outside Ochi.
Bi Bi Bips is a little outside of Ochi past the markets, its nice at night we used to got here for drinks, never ate there though.
