He is young but so am I . He is 22 and I'm 23.

By the way how far is sav la mar from Negril?

Sav is only about a half hour from Negril.

I stayed in the countryside just outside Sav for a week at his house, in the police district. He wasn't around much beacuse of work so it was kinda boring but his neighbors were pretty entertaining! LOL. They took me to Negril all the time. I never really spent much time in Sav at all outside of getting gas for the car and using the ATM.

Of course I had to chime in on this one, Missty. Good call. I went 14 times in one year, twice less then 2 weeks in between. If you are lucky enough to get a guy in customs and immigration, you will have no troubles. The two women I got questioned me the most. It is truly easier to just make up a hotel you are going to. Sandals was right by Jomo's house so I always said that. They asked too many questions when I gave his home address (which I did do twice). Never had them go through my luggage. I even got to the point where I said I travelled for business and was a web designer. It was just so much easier then saying I was visiting my fiance. Until I knew he was coming here, then I said were were going through the visa process. Those lines are so long anyhow, anything to make them easier is what I did. I shouldn't have anymore problems........new, empty passport and going through the nationals line now.

And, as far as hurricane season goes......it's all hit or miss. Only had hurricane related issues two times and nothing major.

I do always just do carryon too. Can't stand waiting for those slow a$$ baggage handlers to unload and then eventually throw everything in a big pile on the floor. Seems one of the reasons my bags were never checked. How much stuff could I realistically shove into one carryon?

I had to chime on this one as well. It seems like not much has changed since I was doing the monthly trip to JA. I always used a hotel also (usually the one he worked at) and if they questioned why I had 2 suitcases I would tell them my husband and kids were coming in a few days!
Never had hassles, but 6 years ago the computers were not installed yet and I used a drivers license and birth certificate thru customes, so there was not stamps or anything.
Just keep your eye on the weather, here and there, you should be fine, talk to the airline about what happens if hurricane comes, numbers to call(but they don't always answer!!!)etc.

Yah, Swell. The stamps are what gave me away. Only a few nosy one's looked back to see the other stamps. Now, I am kind of sad cause my new passport is so darn empty. Can't wait to put a stamp in it again.

Yea I hear you on that one. I'm only going for 4 days so want to do carryon anyways but with these new restrictions. I may just buy my toiletries when I get there ( I know its more expensive but I think its worth it to avoid the looong baggage claim wait).

I hear you can buy them at the airport immediately after going through security. Crazy stuff. If these restrictions continue, we are going to stop by the first Walgreens we see in Chicago and just buy it all. Sucks.
