Re: Airline/Airport Comments?
Was just dreaming of a quick getaway and haphazardly went onto Spiritair.com and punched in a long weekend in June to JA -- and got rates (with the $48 discount) of $242. Rates in July were only $287. Is there a rate war going on??? American's rates are $440 currently. If only I had a real reason to go . . .

Re: Airline/Airport Comments?
Im slightly pissed about that as i called myself purchasing my tickets to JA early, for july, thinking the closer it got to july the more expensive it would be, NOT!!!! i paid roughly $500 and some change flying out of detroit, on Spirit and now im kicking myself. Re: Airline/Airport Comments?
flew to JA in April on NWA, the going flight was ok, the return flight semi sucked, only because the stupid ass flight attendant wasnt helpful. For some reason returning to the states my sinuses started draining, i sneezed non stop for like 5 hours, i borrowed all the tissue my friends had and still no luck. I asked the flight attendant did the have any kleenex, KLEENEX MIND YOU, not life support, not dom perignon, not squat, just some funky a$$ kleenex, and the cow had the nerve to tell me NO, but i could go to the lavatory and get some toilet paper. YOU MEAN TO TELL ME ON A PLANE OF OVER 100 PEOPLE THAT I CANT EVEN GET A DAMN TISSUE. you would rather i climb over people, with my snotty nose, and walk up and down the aisle bumping into peoples heads and stuff, so i can wipe my nose for the remaining 3 hours on hard ass airplane toilet paper. I should have said how about i swap you my free soda that comes with my $400 dollar plane ticket for a couple sheets of tissue COW!!!!!

Re: Airline/Airport Comments?
I'll tell you about MY experience. I flew air jamaica. I liked them ok....don't have much to compare it with. The plane is kinda old looking and the tv screens old fashioned but hey is it the airplane or holiday you're looking forward to? I've always flown economy class anyway. The seats were ok and I loved the fact I could get two cups of fruit juce if I asked coz I get very thirsty.....
Well I flew Thomas Cook Airlines in March gone....booked through Airtours online. Now there's a tiny seat 4 ya. I wouldn't have minded at all except on the return trip me and the lady next to me were very thirsty (hello air con..) the air hostess dem came round wid diluted drinks (concentrated drinks you mix with water or 'squash' as they called it you all know what I mean in short cheap as* drinks) and tiny as* cups 5 yr old children size and even they would ask you for more. Anyway of course I asked for more at which she told me I couldnt have any because other ppl hadn't got yet and it wouldnt be fair EXCUSE ME? FAIR? The drink is so cheap even for me to buy an u know they bought that sh*t in bulk @ wholesale price. A kid asked for more and got the same response. Are you serious? They gave us a service questionaire to fill out afterwards :-) Oh and headphones to watch tv were £5 a pop. No thanks. Lilrosey I sympathise. Last time I came back I was so thirst I had to keep my head down as the air con was drying out my throat and they just wont bring round any driks. Its not fair seeing as your not allowed to carry your own drinks and stuff from home. |

I hear a lot of complaints about American Airlines but with about 25,000 frequent flier miles logged with them, I've never had a problem. I love American Airlines and decided to use them when going to JA. U.S. Airways wasn't that great though. I can't wait to see what the Jamaican airports are like. I'm excited to see both of Jamaica's big airports. I wonder whether or not they're nice clean modern looking airports or old worn out airports like I saw in Lagos, Nigeria....eek. |

Re: Airline/Airport Comments?
I agree Teach. With a 1.5 years between my last trips I was shocked when I hit Sangster this time. Its huge and awesome now! When I first started going to JA they didnt' even have boarding bridges....we just walked off the plane onto the tarmac. I love the long hallway with all the Jamaican art in it now.

Re: Airline/Airport Comments?
I must say I was impressed with Air Canada. I've flown on a lot of different airlines over the years, but the Air Canada plane I took from Vancouver to Toronto was the only one I've been on (unless I've forgotten one or two) that had a middle aisle, and I had an aisle seat in the middle aisle, which I thought was rather nifty. And the flight attendants passed out free earphones. They were some of the freakiest-looking flight attendants I've ever seen, though.
