I will have my mom (her first trip), my kids (their 2nd trip) and my neice (first trip as well). We will be in the MoBay area most of our time. Planning on hitting Negril for a day. Any suggestions for Negril? I've heard Rick's Cafe is a good spot to see the beautiful sunsets.

there's the lineup for this year's sumfest. the last day is the 23rd. nice that you brought an "in-house" babysitter. my sis was originally going with me and she offered to keep the kid so that i could go out. those plans fell through and lil man isn't coming this time around.

i made reservations for the gloriana...but now i'm having second thoughts because i've stayed on the strip 3 times. i'm thinking about finding somewhere else to stay.

jamiss- thanks for the safe travel wishes. i always fly out of st louis which is a 3 hr drive. on previous trips i've stayed at a hotel the night before since the flight departs early in the morning. well this time the cardinals are playing and every hotel near the airport is booked! it's looking like i'll be leaving my house at 1am to drive to the airport. gotta be there at 4am for a 6am flight. so much for a good night's sleep- i'm gonna need enough caffeine to overdose a small child and a pair of toothpicks to prop my eyelids open. ma if i'm looking ragged you'll know why. lol

btw- is that school you help out still in session? walmart has their back to school sale and i wanna bring some supplies.

you know me better than anyone else here so you know just about anything is worth the payoff of a trip to jamaica. not too long after you called me today my dad put me in charge of driving the family home from our weekend excursion. it was the first time i ever drove his gigantimongus expedition (aka his most prized possession) so i was a lil nervous. halfway home the sleep deprivation started getting to me so as i'm driving a truck full of sleepin' folks i'm tryna stay woke by bouncing in my seat and shaking my head. i bet the people driving next to me thought i was having a seizure. lol

No they aren't, but I can take the supplies and store them at mi yaard. Anything helps for the likkle peeps. Do stay safe while driving in the wee hours. Concentrate on the trip coming up and you won't need toothpicks.

trust me jamiss this trip is the ONLY thing on my mind right now. i kinda figured that school would be out by now but reading news reports about hurricane dennis and how schools were ordered to be closed down got me wondering if some schools still meet through the summer. i will leave some supplies with you. i'll have some other stuff for the robin's nest.
