May 31st
So I changed my ticket to leave on the Sunday instead of the Monday, Figured I could use the extra day a yaad, and good thing I did Cause I really needed it.

I was driven to the airport by my parents, who were going to Toronto Anyway, so early morning drive to the airport which takes me almost 3 hours to get to from my house in Kingston.

I get to the airport, the lady at the Air Canada line asks me to Weigh my bag before getting in the line. Funny thing is she asked To weigh the bigger bag not knowing that the smaller one actually Was heavier. Had to move 3 things to get to 51lbs. Check in no problem Both bags weighed 52 lbs!

Go thru and check out duty free, buy some St Remy and chill till its time to board. Plane is full, and had a really nice older gentleman beside me who was going to his father funeral. Touching story and he showed me a picture of his father and we chatted most of the way.

We land in Montego Bay on time, and had no problems as usual thru customs. Proceed to go collect my bags which took forever to come thru. Hand the lady my customs sheet, she waves me thru 2 big bags and carry on's and all.

I go out and the kids run over to me nearly knocking me over!! I was so happy to see them and John and to just be home.

We then decide to go to Negril from Montego Bay, which I am happy we did cause It really is not what I expected and would not go back again. We rammed my bags
In the trunk of the car, had to manipulate them to fit cause of the big box in The trunk. Finally got them in but had my big carry on in the back with John and The kids. The kids were instantly into the bag seeing what I had brought for Them especially candy and the play station!

We drive listen to music and stop and get some Guinness and continue on. We reach Negril and instantly not impressed. I was expecting more not sure what but much more Than I saw. We find somewhere to stay at Blue Cove, which was nice. All I wanted to Do was bathe and wash off.

Empty out my bags and organize what belongs to whom. Jonnoy and Tatiana want to go Swim so bad and I had brought them goggles, swim rings and water wings so they were all set to go.

They swim for a while and then we go out to the beach for a walk, and then head to find something to eat.

I swear mi could a dead fi hungry a Negril. I do not pay more to eat than I know its worth and 1 place I went to wanted $700 for fried chicken and rice, I was like no thanks Im good. So we decided while we were figuring out where to eat to stop at Ricks. It was cool, watched some people jump off the cliff, and after 30 min i was ready to go.

We finally found a place to eat that was not out of this world expensive and i got my friend chicken rice and peas and veg for the price it is supposed to be. ($300)

We then headed back to the hotel and chilled. Our friend Scarlett was with us and he stayed with the kids while john and I went to the beach party just down the road.

I did not have my camera with me so no pics of the party, but was good all the same. That i can say was probably the best part of Negril.

Good start. Its funny once one has ventured outside Negril, how un-fun Negril seems. I thought that place was the sh*t for my first 4 trips.....then I discovered the North Coast!

ya i definatley do not need to go again....im glad i went from the airport cause if i had of travelled 3-4 hours from Claremont i would have been so mad

Monday June 1st

The next day we got up, went swimming with the kids and headed out. My objective for this trip was to tour as much of the island as i possibly could. Well The next day was the first day of touring. We headed out around 11am. Filled up with petrol and headed towards Santa Cruz. The thing I noticed about the Negril area was that houses tended to
be made of board and not cement, and not just houses but shops as well.

We headed towards Santa Cruz enjoying the breeze, music and just being together. We stopped at a place that sold almost any kind of soup you could imagine. We had some conch soup mixed with red pea, and believe me probably the best soup I had ever eaten. The soup shop is before you hit Bamboo Avenue. So after a brief stop to have some soup grab some Guinness we were back on the road. We went thru bamboo avenue, and wouldn’t you know it, the camera decided to screw up and the battery decided to be almost done. So pics are few and far between. We get to Santa Cruz, stop for a cheese patty at mothers and once again continue to Spur Tree, Mandeville, Spalding, stop in Cave Valley get some of the best roast yam you will ever eat and continue thru to Nine Mile and finally to Claremont.

I can honestly say I could just drive all day long and just relax in the car. We get to Claremont about 7ish, meet Peter Treasure, see his new baby daughter and get my room. I love staying at Peters guest house cause its like home. He treats me like family.

I did not stay at johns cause he is in the process of building on to it, and i did not want noise all the time. Treasures is nice and quiet and my speed. We get some dinner(rice and veg with pepper and ketchup for me), grab some Guinness and head to the pool hall and play some pool. At this time I had sent the kids home cause I don’t like them missing alot of school when I’m there. We hang out with friends and head back in about midnight.

Tuesday June 2nd

I get up about 9ish, and asked John what he thought we should do today. I was not really up to going anywhere as I had a really bad migraine. He said we didn’t have to go anywhere, so I was happy about that I really needed the migraine to go away and of course I did not bring m y migraine meds with me. So I did go see his doctor and have him prescribe me something to help. Finally I was feeling better and wanted to go to the river at Lime Hall.

So we went to the river and it was nice and refreshing. I don’t have pics cause its some where i always go and just didn’t think of it. While at the river saw some of my ex friends.

We chatted, and had a great time.

We went out for dinner at John’s cousins and again just a laid back kind of night.

Wednesday June 3rd

First of all the weather all week was awesome, i think it rained a little on Tuesday in the evening but nothing much. Wednesday we decided to go to Milk River in Clarendon. We drove thru the back roads, up to some mountain tops where pine trees grow. My cousin Salla came with us that day, we had a blast all day. We stopped on the way and picked mangos, stopped in May pen to chill at a bar and shoot a game of pool. Then continued on. We were about 2 miles from Milk river
when we found out it was locked down as it had flooded the week before! Oh well, not wasted as on the way back the same road we came from we ran into a guy whose pockets were bulging with Mangos. He took out 4 huge mangos from 1 pocket!!! And he still have nuff.

I hadn’t noticed this place when we passed the first time, but John told Scarlett to stop and this Rasta had some weird stuff out. On one of the signs it says "Im a bad-minded Bombocl$$t!

I never laughed so hard, his other sign says its a wellness centre!!! Wellness centre my butt! Obeah more like it. After i snapped the pick he started to come out, lets just say we drove away real quick! So we went back to May pen and headed back thru Hwy 2000 thru Spanish Town,
and flat bridge. Got some shrimp from flat bridge, took a pic of the famous rock and stopped in Bog Walk to see my friend Christine and her cousin. Chilled for awhile there, had a few Guinness and headed back to Claremont.
