So sorry to hear that, Lilly - He will reappear in your life, don't doubt it - You have to concentrate on yourself and stay strong because you deserve way way better than that man could ever give you.

God don't like ugly, and karma is a ***** - it will come back to him tenfold at some point in time. The best revenge that you can get against him now (take it from one who knows) is to thrive in your own life and happiness.

I hate to admit it but your story strikes closer to home than anyone can imagine.

It truly disheartens me that people (men as well as women) will go to such extent to achieve their own selfish desires with no regards to the impact that it has on the lives of those that they intentionally deceive.

For many of the victims, it has cost them their homes, their family, their jobs, their ability to live a normal life; and often worst: the ability to trust again.

I would like to believe that if I were in the position of one of those "perputrators" I believe that i would simply tell the woman upfront that my primary goal is to come to the States; and if she would consider granting me that opportunity.

I would tell her flat out that I (maybe) cant pay her right away but I would be committed to work for the 3 years (or so) to pay her back. If we like each other and I am "available" (free , single and disengaged), I would probably try at a relationship...But I would make my intentions absolutely clear. If she accepts me. then fine..if not..seee Yah!

I dont want to feel that I ruined anyone's life just to get mine in order.

I have known people who have taken that approach and because of their honesty, they are now here in the States and is happily remarried.

I can only say once again...how sorry I am.

Thanks, RD. I've been told by many that he will reappear in my life at some point, and given that he will only be 26 miles from me, I suspect that's correct. I hope I'm prepared for that call . . . or that visit.

Right now, I'm packing up my emotional baggage and shipping it far away. It's time to move on and live.

No worries, Alex Darling. You can keep me in your Will. I have no use for this person now or in the future. I've lost all respect I had for him and you can't love who you don't respect. He could live next door to me and I wouldn't "take the bait". I'm stronger than that.

I said that same thing. I believe he will reappear again too. Lilly will be so strong by then she will blow him off like Hurricane Ivan!!!!!!

Corey's boss called me again . . . he confronted Corey about the situation because Corey told him that I had disrespected him and that's why we weren't together anymore. Corey "fessed up" to what he had done . . . but never told Omar about the Visa and leaving for the US until Saturday. On Saturday, he gave his notice at work and let Omar know that he was moving to the US on Friday, 11/16.

As one Immigration Officer once told me in 1998, such alleagtions are often taken lightly simply because they have seen many such cases which arise only because of vindictiveness.

Also, I assure you that the "other lady" involved will not drop this dude as a result of the recent revelations to her. Though she has used the excuse of having "too much invested" it could be true, but the investment certainly isnt in the form of money.

A STORY....
Last June, a female friend of mine (in New England) discovered that her husband of 11 months had been less than honest with her. She brought him up from Ja, and married him, BTW (he had a visitor's visa).

He received his work permit in February, and his Green card in May, unknown to her. She discovered that he had a bank account, a cell phone and other pertinent things that she had no prior knowledge of. She found over $2,000 in Western Union receipts of money that he sent to his "lady" back home.

She had co-sign for his new (well...used) car, got him a job, the whole nine yards.

Anyway, he moved out of her house the first week of July.

Last Sept 18th, she attended an meeting at the local INS, with photocopies of all "evidence" in hand. They told her that they could do nothing about it because he has not committed any crimes.

They told her that the most she can do is to write a formal letter to INS, declining her affadavit of support and to state her reasons. They said that even then, it will not help because he has already obtained gainful employment and is therefore not likely to be a finacial burden to the government. And even if he did, the government will still uphold her previous affadavit.

In another 2 years he gets the "permanent" and there is nothing that she can do to stop it.

Sometimes, regardless of the outcome, you have to take a stand.....to do what you think is right. Trying to protect someone else is for all the right reasons.
