Re: My unexpected journey . . .
Sorry about that LW.... but it's in God's hands. He has a reason for everything, and unfortunately some may get hurt by it. I like to believe that that it may be a blessing in disguise for someone...leasons to be learned for the better.

Re: My unexpected journey . . .
If I may say...They would not deny his visa because of that.
Unless you were the wife or the actual person who filed for him, they would not even give it a second thought. As one Immigration Officer once told me in 1998, such alleagtions are often taken lightly simply because they have seen many such cases which arise only because of vindictiveness. Also, I assure you that the "other lady" involved will not drop this dude as a result of the recent revelations to her. Though she has used the excuse of having "too much invested" it could be true, but the investment certainly isnt in the form of money. A STORY.... Last June, a female friend of mine (in New England) discovered that her husband of 11 months had been less than honest with her. She brought him up from Ja, and married him, BTW (he had a visitor's visa). He received his work permit in February, and his Green card in May, unknown to her. She discovered that he had a bank account, a cell phone and other pertinent things that she had no prior knowledge of. She found over $2,000 in Western Union receipts of money that he sent to his "lady" back home. She had co-sign for his new (well...used) car, got him a job, the whole nine yards. Anyway, he moved out of her house the first week of July. Last Sept 18th, she attended an meeting at the local INS, with photocopies of all "evidence" in hand. They told her that they could do nothing about it because he has not committed any crimes. They told her that the most she can do is to write a formal letter to INS, declining her affadavit of support and to state her reasons. They said that even then, it will not help because he has already obtained gainful employment and is therefore not likely to be a finacial burden to the government. And even if he did, the government will still uphold her previous affadavit. In another 2 years he gets the "permanent" and there is nothing that she can do to stop it.

Re: My unexpected journey . . .
Yep.
You know the sad thing about my friend, though? Although he already had his visa, he got food shelter, Green Card and a car out of her. He lied to her about his paycheck and never contributed to the household. She co-signed for his car, set him up in a job, used her 1040 (tax return form) to get his scholarship (he is going to trade school, evenings). Home girl even paid for the ticket to have his father come up last December for a visit. She confessed to me last Thursday that she is still paying on her credit card for the wedding ring and the "honeymoon" trip to Virginia Beach.
