So...the time has come to tell a quick tale of an incredible vacation!!

As I would love to travel to JA, the East Coast, or even lock miself in my home for a week...I actually spent 8 days in the wilderness...not only with birds & bees, but with 17 other people on rafts or kayaks!!

We were a group of frens that hadn't seen each other in many years. Some I use to work with as raft guides and was always considered the baby of the group...and to my joy..still am!! Rafting is one of my favorite past times. 12 years ago I use to guide in Colorado and had many great memories doing so. To my surprise, I discovered that I was one of the most experienced that was on this trip..therefore became the rescue boat. This meant I was the last of the bunch to go..to be there to pick up peeps or gear along the way if needed or to even possibly rescue a boat that could become wrapped around a tree or rock. This of course made me a bit nervous since I hadn't been rafting in years!!!

The trip began beautifully and ended with excitement. This river is considered class IV on a scale of VI difficulty. Which meant many large rapids and a few hazards to watch out for. I could go into detail..but mi noh bore you!! Everyday offered something new and different. The scenery was breath taking and the isolation was much appreciated. There are no forms of communication...juss peace, quiet, and a few drunks here and there!! Being 1 of 4 girls with 14 men .....also made it rather interesting at times.... but mi noh bore u wid dat either!!! There are also many natural hot springs to hike to and have an awesome soak in. Besides the side hikes...we had to opportunity to check out many petroglyphs that were left behind from the natives 100's of years ago...very very fascinating.

Anyhow....this was a much needed vacation, something most people never experience, but should if ever given the opportunity..unless of course you cant handle a little dirt beneath the fingernails!!
