Mi Burthday Adventure
**This has been the best vacation thus far** I went to Sapelo Island, GA. It was pure paradise, unharmed by fancy hotels and major tourist attractions. First a lil about di island... Sapelo Island is the 4th largest of Georgia's chain of barrier islands. The land was given to descendents of slaves 200 years ago and only 1% of the island still belongs to them. It's kinda sad b/c Georgia is fighting to take that from them. Their way of living is laid back & comfortable. They still have a lot of African culture and tradition in their everyday life. The only community there is Hog Hammock. The sign says population 70 but its actually down to 66 people!  The pooch in the picture is my tour guide/body guard named PJ! This dog became so attached to me. Everytime I stepped out the door he was right there. It was funny!

It was an 8 hour interesting drive but it was fun. Around 3:30 Saturday morning we decided to stop at South of the Border. Almost everything was closed but it was nice to see all the lights. It looked like a mini Vegas!
I love this guy!

We finally arrived to the welcome center to board the ferry. The bugs were crazy! It took us about 30 mins on the ferry to get to the island.
The first day we did some touristy things...went site seeing. I just love this picture of the lighthouse...it looks like an actual post card!

This is Jay-Jay, my new 3 year old boyfriend!
 His grandparents owned the bed & breakfast we stayed at and he went with us site seeing. He was so cute and posed every time I took a picture. He was a good tour guide he didn't know any history but he knew what everything was. The bad part he wanted to drive! We had to bargin with a 3 year old to let someone 'bigger' drive...i was dwl the whole time!  He also stole a camera out of somebody's car and started taking pictures of me! That was funny...

The island was so pretty I took a lot of pictures of the trees & state flowers growing everywhere..   I just love this pic...

That evening of the 1st day we ended up at the beach. I thought it was so cool how beautiful the beach was and if you turn around you see all these trees, bushes & plants.  And behind...

The other two days...we just blended in.
We went back to the beach...(Nanny Goat Beach) and walked around. We played a few games of spade, had a cookout and just chilled with the locals. They are truely a warm and unique culture. This was a great experience! I'm going back next month! P.S. Sorry some of the pics are blurry but u get the point!
