Kingston as a vacation spot
Has anyone been to Kingston on their vacation? What was it like? Do you think Kingston would appeal to tourists as a vacation destination?

I think Kingston appeals to the business traveller instead of vacation. I don't beleive Kingston have enough to offer in comparison to Negril or the south coast

Sure it has appeal for the business travellor, but what about attractions such as Port Royal, Lime Cay, the various restaurants and entertainment spots? Wouldn't things like those have some appeal to visitors?

I've only been to Jamaica a few times but never to Kingston side of the island. I'm not sure with everything I've heard that I wish to go. However I'm open minded and wouldn't like to judge anything by what I've heard from others.
Does anyone recommend Kingston as a vacation spot?

Sad Ting people tend to gi Kingston a bad name. Kingston is more "city" Mi nah go ah Kingston so often cuz mi love di beach an need fi be closer to it but nuff tings ah gwaan inna Kingston. Helshire Beach,Lime Cay Beach,Hope road hav nuff tings to see...Devon House,Bob Marley Museum,Movie theatre inna di Sovereign Centa...Asylum and Quad mek for a good dance. Nuff rivers and tings to do. I'd recommend it

I spent a very short time there once staying at the courtleigh and loved it! I had a chance to walk around the city a bit, but didnt have time for any attractions or the beach, but I do wish to return someday...and I do believe I will!

when you get fi stay longer,you'll love it more. I hear nuff people say how di travel agent dem mek dem tink if dem go ah Kingston,they won't return! As if America is so much more safe!!!

I think everyone who thinks they love Jamaica....should go spend time in Kingston....then you really will love Jamaica.....its a great place...!

LOL..tru! I actually felt safer in Kingston then I did in Ochi. Not that Ochi is baad...but in Kingston you arent treated as a tourist walking around with a whole bunch of money. Not sure if I can explain it...but I did feel rather comfy there.

Are you currently living there or juss from there??
