My wife and I stayed at the Seastar Inn in Negril Jamaica. While reaching for an earring that she had dropped, my wife discovered a small spy-type camera mounted on the back of the armoir/dresser, and it was pointed directly at our bed! We searched the room and found another camera mounted bside the toilet, looking up. We confronted the manager and he assured us that the owner would be available to speak with us, but never was for the duration of our stay. Needless to say, we are shocked and disappointed with the Seastar In, and would highly advise any travelers to stay anywhere BUT the Seastar Inn.
It's a real place, Jamaicasun21, and gets otherwise rave reviews on TripAdvisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev..._Jamaica.html). In fact, just looking at the hotel photos, I wish I were there right now myself. I want to believe jimanddawn's post is bogus, but this sort of thing is a more common occurrence than most people realize. I have personal knowledge of something similar occurring (gas station restroom peep holes) from my days in southern California in the early 70s. Lots of sick, depraved people out there--be alert, stay safe.
Think what? That they were full of it? Because nobody wants to hear stories like that. And I tend not believe first posts like that. But its probably true.
One thing's for certain: if I stayed there, that spy cam operator would have to look elsewhere for his jollies. Nothing interesting or entertaining ever going on inside Wahoo's room on vacation.
funny how on another site the person piosting here didnt say they had that experience but heard a rumor.
Stories conficting
I can say seastar has excellent reputation and i never hear anything bad. I dont know the people who run it but heard an employee who was released attempting to hurt the place.
If this is true then true but if its a person trying to just harm a local business not ok
Apparently it is an employee trying to blackmail the owners of seastar They posted the below which doesnt match. Heard sending threatening emails to the owner asking for money or he will keep posting. I dont like to get involved but i just hate to see a small local business get harmed when not true. I hope all parties involved settle there differences and go on to bigger and better things.

We recently heard reports of some guests finding hidden cameras in their rooms at the SEASTAR INN in the West End. Can anyone confirm this?? We have reservations for spring break, but will certainly cancel them should we hear any more bad things about the Seastar Inn.
