Well I am back and the tears continue to fall. Well they did until I booked my next tickets so I am happy again!!!!!!!

Well my trip was Awesome with a capital A!
Sorry I didnt get to meet up with Jamcam and Tia as my original number didnt work so I had to buy a new card and then of course I left Tias number home.
But I am sure their will be a next time.

Although I got in a day later it was the most bestest two weeks in JA!!!
But guess what? I did not take a single picture!!!! I am so upset with myself.

I am not good writing long stories and I sure dont want to bore anyone!! lol
But I have to say:
in regards to Sumfest you would think I knew better then to go to that place at 10pm. Yes at 10 pm and by the time 3am rolled around I felt like a truck rolled over me several times. And I said who brings chairs to sumfest! Well the smart people do!!!!!! I could not even stay for the whole show as age is creeping up and my body was like no no more.
I got to see Cham who did his thing!!!!!! I always wanted to see Bounty and he was okay. Bullet! Bullet!! So Tia if you read this when you hit 3am and your feet were on fire so were mine!!!!!! I had to leave at that point. So sorry I missed ele.
Okay but how about I have never been to a show where
1. They had fireworks and
2. they had the fire cans. I mean I never saw anything like that in my whole life and it was a little scarey.
3. So much weed a gwan!!!!!!

Sad to say I did not make it to the other nights as my honey just wasnt excited about it and me I am just getting old. *sigh*

I stayed in a Villa in Ironshore which now is my home away from home until I get a place of my own. What was so awesome about it was there were tons of fruit trees!! I was able to pick some lime, and mangos and breadfruit, and Ackee!!! Every morning I went out to get some Aloe for my skin as I have the face of a teenager in puberty go figure. Get the Aloe visit with some rabbits and then look for Ackee as you have to wait for it to open to pick it.
My love picked some sour sop to make juice and I picked him some tuna for some tuna water. To me looked like a regular peice of cactus but hey whatever works.
I meet some really great people and the worker in the Villa is my new best friend. She took me out and was really teaching me about finding my way around. Took me to the market in down town so I can get my scallion, callaloo, pine, goat and chicken form the meat market. Even got some butter fish and gunipes. All the while I felt like I was spending tones of money as when you hear 50 dollars for some scallion your like what??????????
Thats what takes some getting used to, but Im getting it.

Spent a day at the Wyndam which I usually do and saw some good folks there. The wind was strong but pretty much the weather was rain almost everyday.
I even got to experience the current going out a couple of times, but thats not the biggest deal to me especially since it was just during the day.

I learned that we as tourists get so robbed on the taxis through Juta! Robbery I say and now I know better so I stick with the route taxis.
I was able to read a book about Bob Marley and learn more about Jamaican history as well as Rastafarian religion. Dawn from the villa is also Rasta so with her I learned things too.

Sad to sat another guest at the Villa was a couple a woman from Canada and a Ja guy getting married for the weekend. I say sad because Dawn asked the guy to take up to the market and for the whoel ride there and back he was hitting on me. He even wrote me a little note with his name and number saying how he wanted to hook up with me. Showed it to my love who just laughed about it. Needless to say he had a careful eye on him until he left.
So sad because the woman was marrying him and he was acting like that. Then come to find out he spent all her money and couldnt even pay for the nights in the Villa. I hate to see people get taken advantage of. But people are big people and you must let them do as they want.

This trip was more like JA living rather then vacationing which is what I wanted if I plan to spend as much time as I do. Not much hanging out so to speak just speading quiet time with my love-oh we both caught colds so that didnt help.

Best part is I have some breadfruit and Ackee in the fridge and I cannot wait to start cooking them up!!!!!

Ill be back there Aug 22-29. Friend is getting married so how can I not go! )

hey misty! glad to see you're back. since you got to sumfest earlier than me you got to see gyptian. he was finishing as we entered the venue. how was he?

i bet you're thrilled to be going back in just a couple weeks. are you staying at the same villa again? how does the price compare to a hotel? i loooved staying at a villa but the prices tend to be higher.

I did see gyptian but I am not sure which one he was. Which one? lol

I did stay at the villa and I need to email the agent to curse them out! If I was your common tourist I would have been pissed!!! Only because it was like staying in someones house. It was nice just simple accomodations. I can do it as my expectations are set low unless I am shelling out Half Moon money! lol
But it worked out because the owner loves me and she will hold the place for me whenever I go back! The price is great but its not a private villa. The owner herself lives there and she has another room she rents short term. I think 50 a night. But I dont mind as the helper loves me to and I even helped get a guy out who I didnt like! Has a pool and fruit trees which I love!!!

Where have you stayed Tia? My first villa experience was in Silver Sands and that was just awesome!!!!!!!! That can be some nice money though!!

I was in front of my honey all night so he couldnt see my eyes!!! He may have been looking at those red stripe girls but oh boy was I eyeing some JA men!!!!

Like your report Misty even without pics. We will take any kinda report on ETJ. I don't think I will make it back when you are there again. Bummer. Want to meet ya. Got anymore tidbits to throw our way? LOL.

Oh you will I remember I went to JA and we got caught in a hurricane after effects that hit Cuba and we still had a great time!! But me I love JA the culture the people the music the men! lol In the states if I meet an American guy Im like oh know how is he going to deal with my West Indianness and Im not even for the WI!!!! lol

okay way off topic but this is the beach in Jamaica Grande in Ochie. It actually looks better now as they remolded the place.

girl you don't know who gyptian is!!! lol. he's the one who sang a song called mama. does it ring a bell now? i also missed spice, and i heard her performance was good too. too bad you left at 3am, even though my feet were killing me, seeing the rest of the performances was worth it. next year, i'll wear sneakers- maybe even bring a folding chair lol.

$50/ngt isn't too bad. i usually stay at the gloriana which ranges from $45-60/ngt. i've stayed at a villa only once and it was fabulous. the only reason why i could afford it is because another etjer who already bought the time at the villa couldn't use it and she sold it cheap! it was a 2 level house- lower level was for the owner and helper, upper level for guests. so we still had lots of privacy. the good thing about the gloriana is its location. it's easy to get around.

From the sound of it looks the the Glorianna should be offering specials to ETJ!!!!!
Oh okay yea I know who that was. He was the one talking about having nothing but porridge to eat. Okay I have gone out the loop on reggae music. Its like hip hop I am a oldies kind of girl! Give me some Sachez, Garnett Beres and I am happy!!!!!!
