Re: The trip of unanticipated incidents
thanks for your patience everyone.
the next morning is national hero's day & my last day . check out is at noon and we don't get up til 10. my flight is at 2pm. at about 10:30 the front desk calls and says that my ride to the airport is here. what? toby's resort is like a 10 minute drive to the airport and i really don't want to spend 3 1/2 hours there. so i call horace and marie and they agree to meet me at 12:30. after checkout i say goodbye to oliver. it's my first tearless goodbye! he says, "you're finally learning!" it's very assuring to know that we're not only planning a wedding, but a life together. shortly after he heads off to work, horace and marie show up to take me to the airport. we took a pic together in july but the young lady who did it decapitated us lol. that's when i realized just how tall they are, because my head was still in the pic, but theirs weren't!
my last pic taken in jamaica:

I used to sit at Margaritaville at the airport and cry in my soda. Horace, my fav bartender used to call me the crying princess.

Re: The trip of unanticipated incidents
thanks everybody. that's one of my fave pictures from this trip. poor marie couldn't smile because some idiot was going way too fast on his handcart and ran her down! she busted her lip and hurt her ankle, and ended up going to the hospital. they are wonderful people though. the entire family came to visit me at the hotel on my last night.
the next trip is slated for the first week of april. i wanna bring the kid and my mom. i think she needs to meet oliver and his family before we get married. i can't wait to take a pic of our moms together. they're both tiny (5'0") and brown! lol

Re: The trip of unanticipated incidents
She hasn't met him yet? That sounds like us, my parents met Rup the week we got married! They spoke to him plenty on the phone and saw pics but never met him face to face!

That sounds so exciting, Tia. I'm sure your mom will love him.

Re: The trip of unanticipated incidents
my mom did see oliver on the day we met...but just never formally met him. we were in the middle of our flirtacious chat when she came from around the corner to holler, "the bus is here to take us to the airport!" had i known where things would end up where they are now i would've at least introduced them to eachother. lol
my sisters have spoken to him on the phone but they couldn't really understand what he was saying. my mom is even worse at understanding since there's already a slight language barrier. i had to translate for her when we were in jamaica because she didn't understand the west indian accent very well.
if he's only half as sweet to my mom as he was to jamaica miss and jc, then she's sure to love him. he's got the best manners. his momma raised him right!

Yep. I talk to her all the time. She just went to JA yesterday.
She's doing well though and I'll tell her hi when she's back.
