okay, i'm not going to make a whole new thread for my trip report because i was only there for 2 nights. since this thread was already revived i'll just go 'head and use it.

so i start my drive to the airport at 3:30am (why even bother going to bed right? i stayed up all night). i stop for gas before getting on the highway and i thought it'd be a good idea to check my oil. when i pop the hood, i see a small cloud of smoke (or steam) and i hear a tiny sizzle. hmmmmm. well i've got a plane to catch so i hop back in my truck and say a prayer. "please God just get me to the airport and i'll deal with this when i get back." i made it without any problems to the airport parking lot and it wasn't smoking at all. i catch my plane and arrive in jamaica in the afternoon. i was expecting lousy weather since that's what i experienced last year at this time. i am pleasantly surprised to see bright sunshine and sweaty faces. i get to toby's resort and once i'm in my room i crank up the a/c and start ironing my clothes.



i've always loved french doors. i didn't spend any time on the veranda because the a/c unit made it too hot. it did make a good bathing suit and towel dryer though.

i chill out for a few hours, take a dip in the pool, & talked with some english tourists. the bartender was playing jah cure, so of course i had to have a long chat with him about music. i called jamaica miss and my drivers horace and marie. i've got some baby clothes and pictures for my drivers and jamaica miss and i make plans to hang out the next day.

horace and marie come by a few hours later. we exchange hugs and they take me to whitehouse to get some fried fish. then we go to a supermarket to get some drinks for the room. red bull and guinness for oliver and a gallon of water for me. they drop me off at the hotel and i go back to my room to eat my dinner. i'm sitting on the edge of the bed eating and watching tv and i notice someone staring at me from across my veranda. it's the hotel security guard who's been making eyes at me and trying to tell me how much he likes me all day. once he passes through the corridor i close the curtain on the french doors in hopes of not seeing my stalker any more. i take a nap and oliver comes over after work. guess who escorts him to the room? the stalker security guard LOL!

the next day jamaica miss and ted come get me. boy is she a sight for sore eyes. lots of smiles and big hugs and i tell her how much i missed her. i'm famished and have a headache. she takes me to a place that makes great fish on the north coast overlooking the ocean. it's beautiful. we sit under an almond tree and chat while i eat.


ted cuts it open with a bottle cap while jamaica miss and i try to compare it to the almonds we see in the states.

I absolutely LOOOOOVE your room girl! I would have been out on that verandah like all day! And I also adore that pic of JMiss too.

well you woulda been chillin on that veranda alone cause i ain't the one to sit outside and let the a/c unit blow hot air on me. lol

and i most definitely thought about you while i was there.

i am so thankful jamaicamiss keeps pain killers in her purse. after a couple of pills and food in my belly i'm feeling much better. now that we're done eating we stop at some gift shops. i promised my son i'd bring him a surprise from jamaica. the store keeper i met was very friendly. she gave both of us a free bottle of water while we browsed around. i found several cute items and she gave me a good price on it. here's my lil dude sporting his new attire.

She's such an awesome mama too.....so patient. I love that kid.....here's my favorite pic of him wearing MY sweater. He had an "accident" on the way to my hotel in Indianapolis and of course since Tia was just dropping me off there was no change of clothes.
