I also base it on whether or not I'd like to experience that culture. I know I adore Jamaican culture which is why I'm hooked on JA. But there are other countries I'm dying to see based on that.

Re: How Do You Choose Your Vacation Spot?

Usually decide by where we want to go. I guess you just have to prioritize the locations where you want to visit and then go from there.

Re: How Do You Choose Your Vacation Spot?

Ted and I have good things to say about Curacao. It is a small island, only 140,000 people. They are very friendly, the island is clean, they drive nice, their cars are in good shape, and the shopping bargains are numerous. We want to see more of it and will probably return in the fall. We picked it because Ted can go there without a visa. Funny, their stamp in the passport looks similar to Jamaica's stamp.

I searched the friggin net for the number there and kept being re-dialed to the States (after trying 5 times I sadly had to get back to work and after I forgot I'm sorry ).. Miss.. if you liked it there... imagine Aruba.. if only those dumb people would not be too busy all the time..I'm happy you had a good time!

Re: How Do You Choose Your Vacation Spot?

I agree Ghetto Gurl that I would love Aruba. Hopefully I will have more time and have 24 hr hookup in the States when I return in 3 weeks and will work on a visa paper for Ted.

I thought something happened about the call and you might not have got us. Breezes sucked and I unhooked the phone for awhile because the red button kept blinking and after 3 times calling them they finally got it to stop. It only took them 3 days.

Is the shopping as good in Aruba as it is in Curacao?

I would like to travel with Ray to another Island, but I'm not sure of where he can travel with just a JA passport... Does anyone know?

He can travel to Curacao and the Bahamas. There are others but I forget. I just google the island asking for visa requirements. I also think he can go to St Lucia but Air J is no longer going there so I don't know how you would travel. I also heard that Venezuela is visa free for Jamaicans. Hope this helps you.

Wow thanks guys. This really helps me out a bunch. I was thinking about taking Ray somewhere else in June instead of me going to JA. I'lll check it out...

Re: How Do You Choose Your Vacation Spot?

A Jamaican must have a visa for Aruba, but an American does not. That was our first choice but their internet site was always too busy to give me the paperwork to make out.

Thanks RD for the list. It would be difficult to take him to some of those countries because of connections in the States where they cannot enter without a visa. But the list is priceless.
