Re: Hurricane Katrina Damages
We have been sooo busy ever since Katrina hit. Waves of evacuees have been and continue to arrive into my sleepy little town that we are practically overwhelmed. The stories they have to tell are tragic. It is painfully obvious that many people in this part of the world have never experienced total destruction of their lives. The scenes of devastation are similoar to the scenes of war. I do believe that many in the islands are more familiar with the destructive power of storms and can better cope with the aftermath. Most people I have spoken with have lost all and many plan never to return to New Orleans. Quite a few in our area have already settled in and have begun new lives for themselves. The city itself will probably not be fit for habitation this fall and due to the homes standing in water for so long they may not ever be structurally safe and have to be torn down. If all the leaking gas mains don't start so many fires that entire neighborhoods go up in flames. Sorry I have been absent from ETJ but it's been for a good cause. I'll try to post more as our situation permits.

Re: Hurricane Katrina Damages
The situation with katrina breaks my heart, but i do believe the living GOD is at hand. America is a land filled with sin. Sexual sins, murder, rape, and falsehood in religion. The scriptures never lie in the right light. Sometimes when i here people say GOD bless america i wonder do they realize that are disrespecting GOD's word. GOD hates sin. Since it is too much, the race issue will always be a factor as it was with katrina, sexual sins will always been in the open. In truth, america will never get itself right in the eyes of GOD, so there is no hope in that. So GOD will save those who wants to be saved. You have to keep an open heart and seek GOD. I've heard people who believe and are people of the scriptures talk about katrina and have not sent 1 dollar or anything to the victims. Since religion is "here" and the majority believe in the scriptures then the actions should as in some cases be fulfilled. What would moses do? what would jesus do? what would muhammad do? when the living GOD speaks he does not give you an opition when the lord HAS spoken it is a command that should be fulfilled. I'm not talking about the ones who have done something. but to the other people of the scripture. This nation as a whole have their part to do. No matter in what you believe rather it is the torah the bible or quran each calls for us to live and act upon all things in which GOD wants.
