Oh, with the World Cup Cricket coming in 2007, there's a lot of construction going to take place to build sporting facilities and hotels on the north coast and I think in St. Catherine too. So that event is gonna bring in some investment, and some tourist dollars. We just hope it all gets put to good use.

first off big up t jag for bring up a serious topic on this board. i always hope that jamica will get better. hopefully before america get its hands on it and destroys what culture we have over there left. Not that its in the talks but u know we like to take over anything and everything if we think we can make some money or find value in the country. Its all about the budget. America is one of the richest countries..yet we have one of the biggest debts in the world now because of bad budgeting. hopefully the next president can undue some of the damage already inflicted on our country. and i hope the same for jamica

I understand the frustration but money, especially big money, stays with money. True throughout most of the world. Look at Las Vegas...Thousand Dollar High Rollers throwing away small fortunes in luxury casinos while, less than a block away, unfortunate souls are destitute. The system bugs me too, they tax me when I make it and when I spend it! I'm just glad to be able to make enough to spend to keep my family happy and healthy.

Funny 1stP, I ONLY carry Jamaican dollas too. I go down with about $10,000 and use the ATM's the rest of my trips. I get those looks too when they tell me a US price and I only have J.

My point for not carrying USD is the conversion. If you pay in USD they give change in J, and it just confuses me.

Co-sign on the money thing...I only pay for stuff in JA because then I don't have to convert when I get change and the US dollar price is always higher than the JA price if you figure out the conversion rate...
