I am not sure if someone already did this but what do you guys think of Rita Marley's plans to exhume Bob Marley's remains in Jamaica and rebury them in his "spiritual resting place" - Ethiopia?

Re: Bob Marley exhume?
I to believe it is wrong... I don't they should move it. When i used to live in st anns, i was a frequent up in the hills to 9 mile. My cousins and I would smoke wid the ras dem and me being the yute that i was would always go in to the grounds to see the house where the coffin was. And who is going to do it anyways.. rasta dem not allowed to see dead bodies.. who is going to move the remains.. anyways.. i say leave him be.... don't know why rita is doing it.. maybe she has her reasons...

Re: Bob Marley exhume?
she is living in africa.. and yes it is Ethiopia. She has been there for quite some time actually. She is living on land that King Selassie I gave to anyone moving back to africa for religion purposes.

Re: Bob Marley exhume?
Representitives of the Marley family deny any plans to exhume Bob's body.
Read it here... The Jamaican govt. says it has not received any requests for Bob Marley's body to be exhumed. Read about it here.

ALTHOUGH.... If it wasn't, and Rita was actually gonna do it... I think that is her choice. I think it's her husband, and even though the public has a opinion, they never knew him or what he wanted, his family did and I think if she DID want to proceed with it, that is something that isn't our (the public's) business. Alas.. it is a rumour and the man is being left in his resting spot.

Well, here's some more interesting information published in todays Gleaner:
Marley exhumation depends on family published: Saturday | January 15, 2005 MARLEY ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, (AP): THE DECISION on whether to rebury reggae legend Bob Marley in Ethiopia is private and depends on his family, an official of the Bob Marley Foundation said Friday. On Wednesday, Marley's widow, Rita, said she was working on taking her late husband's remains from Jamaica to his 'spiritual resting place', Ethiopia. ANGRY REACTIONS She said the reburial would occur after February celebrations in Jamaica and Ethiopia marking Bob Marley's 60th birthday and has the support of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Ethiopian government officials. Rita Marley's remarks provoked angry reactions in Jamaica, with Jamaicans saying the proposed reburial would rob the Caribbean island of its national heritage. "There is no plan on February 6 to return the remains of brother Bob Marley. Further, this is a private decision that the family will be involved in," said Desta Meghoo-Peddie, managing director of the Bob Marley Foundation. "Of course, Mrs. Marley, as Bob Marley's trust fund, will be the one to help administrate any such decisions but no one is making those plans. No body is being exhumed as we speak." Meghoo-Peddie said Mrs. Marley would not speak to journalists about Wednesday's comments. DIVERTING ATTENTION Ethiopian Orthodox Church and government officials were not immediately available to comment. Meghoo-Peddie said the furore was diverting attention from month-long celebrations to mark the reggae legend's 60th birthday. "We just feel like we just want the attention where it needs to be, which is on this event and helping Africa, helping build Africa, and show Africa in a positive light," Meghoo-Peddie said.

I certainly hope this is not the case. Leave him to rest in peace where he was born.
