New arrest in Missippi Burning killings

79 year's old preacher arrested. PHILADELPHIA, Mississippi (AP) -- A reputed Ku Klux Klansman was arrested late Thursday on murder charges in the 1964 slaying of three voter-registration volunteers -- a case that is one of the last pieces of unfinished business from the civil rights era.

Seven Klansmen were convicted of federal conspiracy charges in the killings and sentenced to prison terms ranging from three years to 10 years. None served more than six years. But the state never brought murder charges.

better late than never but he already live his life while the the 3 volunteers who were killed in 1964 were 21, 20 and 24 died so young.

Equal rights and justice ? Support Mummia Abu Jamal still in babylon Jail .

Re: New arrest in Missippi Burning killings

How likely do you think it is for him to go free? I read in an article that he was cleared of charges at the original trial because a juror couldn't convict a preacher.

Justice delayed is justice DENIED! I'm sure they already had an idea of who was responsible but let's not believe they really care. That man is going to be in the segregated unit if he is actually convicted which I doubt. History has taught us that nothing really changes. What up Nandi I'm back.
