Why Are Jamaicans Always Trying To Think, Talk, Act, And Look White?

Why Are Jamaicans Always Bigging Up White People, And Putting Down Blacks?

Jamaicans are always going out of their way to support and defend white people, while racially discriminating against people of African descent at the same time.

In Jamaica, there is a tremendous amount of racial discrimination being perpetrated by a small white/mulatto elite against a majority black population, and that this majority black population, being thoroughly indoctrinated in black self-hatred, will both victimize themselves and other people of African descent. How else does one explain the fact that both political and economic power within the nation are almost exclusively concentrated in the hands of a small white/mulatto elite to begin with? Why are the very wealthy, as well as those who possess the greatest amount of social/economic mobility within Jamaican society, always exclusively drawn from the ranks of whites and light-skinned mulattoes? It is a well-known fact that Jamaicans have always elected leaders who deliberately promoted black-on-black rivalry (Norman Manley and the Jamaican-initiated dissolution of the West Indian Federation in 1958) or outright black-on-black racism (Hugh Shearer and his contempt for black civil rights, black pride, and black nationalism, culminating in the expulsion of Guyanese black nationalist Walter Rodney from Jamaica). In addition, it should be obvious from a brief examination of black voting patterns in Jamaica that Jamaican society is one that institutionalizes both black-on-black racism and black racial self-hatred. Often, this black self-hatred that happens to be widespread throughout the island is used as the justification for rationalizing further discrimination and mistreatment against people of African descent, especially Haitians, Africans, and black Americans.

How does one explain the fact that skin bleaching has reached epidemic proportions in Jamaica, with the majority of Jamaicans bleaching themselves white in one form or the other? And what about the fact that most Jamaicans believe that becoming white is the only way to achieve power and success? Just because one refuses to consciously recognize the existence of distinct Euro-Jamaican/mulatto/Afro-Jamaican communities on the island, does not change the fact that there are substantial social, cultural, political, and economic differences between these communities. Labelling everyone “Jamaican” residing within the boundaries of the island does not change the fact that people of European and mulatto ancestry in Jamaica are considerably more advantaged, economically, politically and socially, than the majority of Jamaicans, who happen to be neither white nor mulatto.

Furthermore, no other black majority society in either Africa or the Caribbean, except for Jamaica, has ever democratically elected governments dominated by a small white/mulatto elite or allowed the white minority to control the means of economic production. It would seem that the psychological internalization of white supremacist ideology by the overwhelming majority of Jamaicans reflects the fact that the penetration of European values and culture (rather than European power) was much greater throughout the West Indies, especially in Jamaica, than Africa, or indeed many of the islands of the British Caribbean.

"Yes, Massa, Yessum Sa!" Most Jamaicans see themselves as slaves of the white man and will do anything he says.

MOST JAMAICANS ARE RACIST, WHITE-WASHED BIGOTS WHO GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO PERSECUTE AND RACIALLY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE AND AFRICAN CULTURE!

Re: Why Are Jamaicans Always Trying To Think, Talk, Act, And Look White?

MOST JAMAICANS HAVE A WHITE-WASHED, COLONIAL MENTALITY. JAMAICA IS A NATION OF UNCLE TOMS AND AUNT JEMIMAS!

How does one explain the fact that skin bleaching has reached epidemic proportions in Jamaica, with the majority of Jamaicans bleaching themselves white in one form or the other? And what about the fact that most Jamaicans believe that becoming white is the only way to achieve power and success? Why is there so much black self-hatred in Jamaica? As we all know, Jamaica is one of the few places in the world today where the practice of skin bleaching has reached epidemic proportions, especially amongst the poor of the so-called garrison towns. Many Jamaicans will bleach themselves under the mistaken belief that having a fairer, whiter skin will lead to better jobs, better housing, greater social mobility, as well as greater popularity amongst the opposite sex. Even in spite of the dangers that can arise from using skin lightening cremes, such as developing skin cancer, glaucoma, and diabetes, many still view the pursuit of having a whiter, lighter skin as well worth the risk.

Here is a video about a family of Jamaican skin bleachers. Check this out:

In the video, notice that the old Jamaican woman being interviewed by Michelle Bromley-McGhie has clearly suffered a large amount of skin damage to her face because of bleaching. However, she not only continues to apply the creme to her face and body, but encourages her daughter to bleach her own skin as well. Talk about sick! Jamaicans are so filled with racial self-hatred that they will do anything to transform themselves into memebers of the white race!

Now lets place this video in some context. According to City University of New York scholar and researcher Christopher A.D. Charles, in a 2007 paper first published in The Journal of Black Studies and entitled “Skin Bleachers’ Representations of Skin Color in Jamaica “:

A content analysis was done of the reasons the participants give for bleaching their skin. The participants bleach their skin to remove facial blemishes, to make their faces “cool,” as a result of peer influence, to lighten their complexion, to appear beautiful and to attract a partner, to follow a popular fad, and to have the visual stimulus of the bleached skin because it makes them feel good. In Jamaican society, negative representations of dark skin indicate that dark skin is devalued, whereas light skin is valued. The hegemonic representation that elevates light skin over dark skin and guides the behavior of the skin bleachers has its roots in socializing institutions of the larger cultural milieu. The interaction of the government, the church, the education system, the media, formal culture, and popular culture from the colonial period to the present sends repeated messages that light skin is superior to dark skin.
