Unhappy Breast-feeding driver found guilty

This just in on MSN.com:

Breast-feeding driver found guilty

House arrest after driving at 65 mph while nursing her infant

RAVENNA, Ohio, Dec. 5 ? A woman who nursed her infant while
driving 65 mph on the Ohio Turnpike was sentenced Thursday to
three months of house arrest for violating child-restraint laws.

CATHERINE NICOLE Donkers, 29, was also fined $300. The judge
delayed the sentence for one month so she can pursue her
appeal. Donkers was found guilty in August of three traffic-
related charges. She was found innocent of child endangering.

Donkers said her husband ordered her by cell phone to
breast-feed their 7-month-old daughter to save time while she
drove on the turnpike May 8. Police stopped Donkers after a
trucker who saw her holding the baby on her lap called
911.Donkers testified she did nothing wrong because the
couple?s religious beliefs require her to follow her husband?s
directives.

They belong to the First Christian Fellowship for Eternal
Sovereignty, which has a history of challenging the government.

LOL, KC. Reminds me of a comedy routine I heard

once about how funeral processions get to run red lights. The comedian asked "Tell me, what's the rush?... It seems to me

it's good for business... [crash] Just throw 'em in the back" LOL

I am researching this religion now and they really

have some weird objectives.

Quote:
"The main objective of The First Christian Fellowship of Eternal Sovereignty is

to proselyte and educate sovereign Americans and empower them to demand and defend their God given rights and fulfill their

duties as freedom loving Christians against the encroachment of the Beast and his agents. A Supreme Court Justice in America

Communicators Association vs Douds, 339 U. S. 382, 442 said, "It is not the function of our Government to keep the

citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the government from falling into error."

We intend to do all we can as a Christian Fellowship and as a free sovereign people to return our governments to

their proper Constitutional role as is our proper "function" and duty.
But if the Gov't don't set road

rules and made those decisions ourselves many of us won't be here today!!! These people are sick.

Seems to me, KC, that the the followers of this

religion are doing all the "dirty work" for their leaders who encourage them to set themselves up to be arrested or worse.

This may seem harsh, but to me it's only a short step away from the Arab religious fanatics who commit suicide

bombings for their cause.

I was wondering who would comment on that!

While it sounds plausible (if not stupid), I think that the couple only said that in court as part of their religious

challenge.

Just my opinion. What do y'all think?

Man, wifey really dumb if she would endanger

her baby's safety to listen to husband's "order". So much for a mother's intuition. Hers must have been on mute that day!

Crazy, crazy people. Religious belief??? I'm all

relgious freedom, but when you put others at risk that stupid. That's all she got house arrest???!!

I hate seeing

parents who have their children standing between both seats while driving, not to mention on the front seat. Makes me want

to hurl a few punches their way. Come on how can you endanger a child in such a way?

my sentiments exactly leo. i also hate when small

children aren't in a carseat. do parents realize that they are endangering the life of their child?

i had a friend a

few years ago who would nurse her infant while driving. i thought that was crazy stupid but i didn't say anything to her

about it.

parents tell me if you've ever done this...
have you ever tried to calm a crying infant while you were

driving? i was with my 4 mo old niece and i tried to put the pacifier in her mouth while keeping my eyes on the road. i

think i stuck that thing everywhere except her mouth...her nose, eyes, chin...lol
