Re: 'Marijuana could be decriminalised soon'

So does it make sense to legalize ganja or marijuana? If so how will it benefit society? If no, how will it harm society?

Jack Herer: The emperor wears no clothes.
Dr. med. Lester Grinspoon & James B. Bakalar:Marihuana, the forbidden Medicine.(The storys of some people in this book brought tears into my eyes!)

Re: 'Marijuana could be decriminalised soon'

Oh, the topic at hand.....

First of all I want to say this: Out of all of the people I have met in my life, there are very, very few that have NEVER tried weed. Out of the ones who have tried, there are a few that don't like the way it makes them feel and that's why they don't smoke it. Pretty much everybody else either does smoke or will if the opportunity presents itself.

I think after people got over the initial shock of actually being "allowed" to smoke weed, it would eventually get to a level where it would be consumed the same way alcohol is NOW. I don't think people would show up to work high, unless before they were showing up to work drunk.....

Basically I don't think that there will be any MAJOR benefit or harm in legalizing it. Maybe one benefit....people could stop all the drama associated with HIDING it.....

Re: 'Marijuana could be decriminalised soon'

but really there have been debates that smoking weed is dangerous to one's health. Is that a true statement? Are there any health benefits from smoking the herb?

Re: 'Marijuana could be decriminalised soon'

But it impairs your driving and your judgement....how does that make the world a better place?? There are already too many deaths caused by impaired drivers. And don't even try to answer that because there is no CORRECT answer besides DON'T DO IT!

The U.S.A. spent 1 million $ on a test in Holland, how smoking herb effects the driving. They used placebos and real joints on all kinda different people.
Since there was not even one negative factor, the U.S. never released the test-result.
I used to smoke day & night and when I was driving high I used to catch myself driving slowly and relaxed on the German Autobahn.Normally I am speeding cause we got no speed limit. When I was driving drunk I started loosing control a little bit.

In Germany, for the last couple of years, the police took your driving license away if they caught you smoking a joint at your house or on a park-bench or wherever.Last year it changed, now there has to be evidence that you were smoking while driving, like a filter in the ashtrey.

I am not supporting driving high, I think that's an experience everybody has to make by himself, but what about the coffee-drinkers who needs a cup of coffee in the morning to feel right and then driving under the influence of caffeine(is it right?) ?

This seems to be a never ending debate on the part of governments worldwide efforts to either legalize the herb or keep it under wraps.

The point about driving under the influence of caffine is true but which one influences the body more?
