Pepsi, Coke Deliverymen Come to Blows

INDIANA, Pa. (AP) -- State Police say the long standing rivalry between Coke and Pepsi took a physical turn Friday when a Pepsi deliveryman allegedly punched his Coke counterpart in the face at a western Pennsylvania Wal-Mart.

Authorities said the two deliverymen were "apparently bickering back and forth" while unloading their wares at the Indiana County store. Police said when the Coke deliveryman left the store, his counterpart allegedly punched him in the face three times, breaking his nose and giving him a black eye.

No charges have been filed, but police characterized the incident as a misdemeanor simple assault.

I know that's right JASpice. I don't drink sodas anymore, but I have always prefered Coke over Pepsi. Pepsi has a twang to it....yuk. I think I will post some of the comments to this article from WXIA. They are rather interesting.

Worked for coke until I became so disgusted at what the employees do to the products prior to bottling and canning. I'll never ever drink any soft drink from any company. I watched a **** stand and pee into a vat and reported him. Management said they had to have more witnesses or they would be sued for racism. Enjoy your drink!

As with any gang violence, police should expect retaliation and escalation.

Don't be surprised if there is a drive by with guys in red bandanas in a Mercedes (with spinners) at the Pepsi HQ.

Great background for a new commerical! Except have Tony Stewart in the Coke outfit and Dale Jr in his new Pepsi outfit! What a blast that would be. I drink both although I have family at Coke so I better be quiet now!

Don't think that coke is the only place that things like this happens, I could list a few other places that are like this. The things that we eat.. well lets just say most people don't even think about where it has been or who did what to it.

Oh yes, don't think just because you cooked it at home it was exempt from some idiot doing something to it before you bought it.

The best "hope" a person has, to have good safe food is to grow it yourself, and even at that a person should never forget to ask Gods blessings on it.

Ok, in one state we have KIDS fighting in school, And you lock THEM up. But 2 adults fight, and you just go. "misdemeanor simple assault.
What is going on here ,Adults are not to set examples? But KIDS are? NO, lock one up for fighting , lock the other up ,KID or not.

Pepsi was taking up for the dear sweet lady at Coke that was framed for trying to sell Coke secrets to Pepsi but Pepsi didn't want them because Pepsi new it had a better product. Coke was boycotted by an ethnic group! Gotta have my root beer, or any beer for that matter!

There are certain things that are rather insane. This is one of them. On the one hand, it IS rather humorous. On the other, they were both behaving very much like children. It was both childish, and immature.

I can certainly expect that there WILL be consequences for the Pepsi driver.

As to the comment from Backwoods, Pepsi turned in the attempted theft because it was the right thing to do. It had nothing to do with "we don't want it because we have a better product".

Simply put, it WAS the right thing to do. Pepsi would have wanted Coca-Cola to do the very same thing, and they WOULD have if the tables had been turned.

While each company wants to be top dog, they both want to do so legitimately. Otherwise, think about what it would do to their reputation.

This conduct from their own delivery driver could prove to be a PR nightmare for Pepsi if they aren't careful, and they know it.
