Free Education or Free Medical? You can't have both.
What if your country/State had a referendum on this and you were asked to vote, which would be your choice?
And why.

Free medical because I know I could teach if needed, but I am not capable of treating miself to some illness or wound.

Huh?
I am not quite clear on that.
You mean that you could teach your kids, up to a college level???

Re: Free Education or Free Medical? You can't have both.
Up to college level...YES.... but no...not at college level. As far as college level would go, then I still think that free medical would be the better deal. For the past two years I had to pay out of pocket about $5,000 in medical bills for minor incidents that involved my son and miself. Free medical would last for a lifetime and once you start aging, the costs seem to increase. Anyhow, I juss dont see education adding up and beyond the cost of medical.

I've never partaken of either, so I'd have to go with my gut feeling and say free medical. I'd love to have free medical.

Everyone is cracking me up with this. It's the Missouri River that is flooding. I live along the Mississippi, and, even that, will never reach me. It tried in 1993, to no avail.
Our smaller creeks, streams, and rivers are causing some inconvenience; but not for me at this point.
We've had more JA calls concerning this then you can imagine.
Thanks for asking.
Funny thing is, as I type this, it just started pouring down rain. I had a nice breeze and now I had to close the windows.

Oh.
I thought the missouri river was a tributary to the Mississsippi.
Just a wild guess.
Sorry.

That I am unsure of....could be.
We were on the Casino Queen last Sunday, which resides on the Mississippi, on the Illinios side of the River. I walked out on deck and looked across. The Mississippi seems to be up over the embankment and almost touching the street that seperates the River from the Arch Grounds (It's a sidewalk and a whole lot of steps up to the actual grounds). So, it is definately up.
I sandbagged in 1993. I hope to God to never have to do that again. All those poor people losing their houses.

Re: Free Education or Free Medical? You can't have both.
free medical would be my choice. compared to doctor visits and the frequency medical bills seems much higher that even a single term of high school. What i am trying to say is the value on health compared to that of education is more, thats why the costs for medical is so high. if the Govt pays my medical bills then that money saved could go towards my children's tuitions

Re: Free Education or Free Medical? You can't have both.
As a UK citizen, we have the luxory of both free education and free health care. But of course you can pay for either of these in the private sector if you wish.
Although I was educated privately and a pay for my sons education I still support paying my taxes toward the education of others. I see this at part of my social responsiblity.
As for medical care, in my opinion this is actually better and safer in the NHS - state funded system - than in the private sector.
I can't imagine what it must be like when you're ability to pay determines the quality of health care you recieve. Any civilised society should look after the those who are most in need ie the sick, especially children and the elderly.
