Confession of a corrupt cop

Quote:
"The kind of money that was out there made it easy for me to influence even the most upstanding individual. However, I identified those that were morally weak and always complaining of money problems.

"My introduction to corruption came about two weeks after graduating from the Police Academy," admits a police officer who was involved in corrupt practices for the first 18 years of his over 20-year career.

Not sure where the rest of the article is, so I am guessing this next article is the continuation of it.

Quote:
Police officer comes clean

"For years and years they will sit down and operate in league with the dealers and you will never know because they don't show their wealth as our male counterparts do."

"I enlisted in the Jamaica Constabulary Force in the 1980s, and from as early as training school, we were taught to adhere to the esprit de corps code, where no matter what a member of our training squad did we were not expected to pass information on to our superiors. we were actually told that they did not like persons that gave them information on others.

"In the case where a rule was broken and the offending student constable could not be identified, the entire squad would be punished. We would beam with pride during our punishment, knowing we stood up for our colleague and the code.

I guess it's not surprising, but it shocking to read the details about it. I mean, getting ratings for the more persons you kill? What the heck? That sounds like some kind of gang or gun men, not police officers!!!!

For a long time now, since I have known about corrupt cops taking payment to not give you a ticket, I have been very suspicious of them and always kept within the speed limit, so as to not run into these people. Cause mi naaa pay off no cop. :eusa_snoo

But police pay not all dat. How can you tell a man to turn down millions of dollars, for the betterment of the country and to do what's good? Ahh bwoy. Life hard.

Re: Confession of a corrupt cop

I don't know...there is a part me that says u know what.... what is the big deal if I slip a cop a extra 25/50/100 to let me off because I ran a red light/ or was speeding and dont want to have to get a ticket or go to court. But then I think, thats how it all starts with the little stuff....one starts playing God and begins to independantly make decisions on whats wrong and whats right, not good.

It's all wrong, rules apply to everyone....Though money is what makes the world turn...... it talks and all else is B/S. Unfortunate but true.

Re: Confession of a corrupt cop

The big deal is, that these same cops move on to bigger things like moving ganga across the island, providing guns to criminals that might end up shooting a family member, God forbid and letting criminals get off of some of the crimes they do.

It's a circle that comes right back to each and everyone one of us that contributes to it.

If I broke the stop light, it would be nice I got let off, but at what cost?
I'll pay the ticket and be on my merry way.

Re: Confession of a corrupt cop

I think you mean smuggling lots of blow to other countries(thats a big deal), in the full article it gave prices of kilo bircks of coke and it was like 5,000 Ja wich is worth about 10,000US in the states, the cop was getting paid off by dealers, confiscating weed/coke and selling it, taking evidence and selling it, conveniently losing evidence, it ran the gammot. The entire police force is in on it. Post the whole story its a good read

Senior investigators to probe murder of policemen and relativesA team of senior investigators has been assigned to probe the fatal shooting of two members of the police force and members of their families in separate incidents Tuesday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Denver Frater, who is coordinating the investigations, says the police are pulling out all the stops as they search for the killers.

ACP Frater says the police are yet to determine a motive for that attack on Sergeant Huan Genus in Trelawny and Constable Ralston Ebanks in Portmore, St. Catherine.

38-year-old Constable Ebanks and his 34-year-old sister Fernandis Ebanks-Clarke were fatally shot when gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in which they were travelling shortly after five Tuesday afternoon.

An eleven year old girl, who was in the vehicle, was also injured in the attack.

She remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Less than five hours later 56-year-old sergeant Genus and his 26-year-old daughter, former TVJ reporter, Shari, were fatally shot on the Stewart Castle main road in Trelawny.

Re: Confession of a corrupt cop

All the people were probably shot by police offices who were about to get outed, just my opinion. All the cops are in on it or at least know corruption is going on, and if you know about it why not profit from it? There all involved
