I have heard if you get deported for overstaying another visa or criminal activity, you must wait at least 3 years to apply again and then, it is usually denied.

if he was born before jamaican indepence he may file for british overseas citizenship status

nothing easy about going either way. trust me ive debated both options in depth. i just know that uk citizens going to ja, rather than the other way round, is ever so slightly easier cos were a commonwealth country.
