Ackee is Back!
I just finished reading an article in the gleaner that the FDA is now allowing ackee to be imported again. I'm sooo glad ackee is finally allowed back in the US. I just hope the grocery stores don't charge an arm and a leg for a can.

It was $7.99 a can here before.

The US wasn't letting any ackee be imported into the country because of problems with the toxin. But now they lifted the suspension so our stores will be able to sell ackee again

damnit! There goes my idea for a smuggling business. I was going to drive trunk-loads of ackee over the border and sell it for $12 a can!
Oh well... back to the drawing board.

Do the just taste that good or what, personally I dont think eating something that could make you puke is something I want to try, unless they are the total shiz-nit. Someone please describe flavor or why you guys like them so much.

it's the national dish man and i guess and acquired taste since i've never someone who doesn't like it  !
the taste is unlike anything else so i dunno how to describe it...but it freaking good!
