The Portia Simpson-Miller administration is stepping up its efforts to tighten the laws governing sexual abuse of minors.
Friday morning Attorney General and Minister of Justice, AJ Nicholson, tabled two bills in the Senate which seek to widen the definition of rape.
The Bills also give the courts the power to send convicted sex offenders to prison for life and increases the authority of the courts to deal with sexual abuse between husbands and wives.
