He would not have wanted us to feel like that, JC. He was always very positive and loving. He knew his God and was confident in his feelings and convictions. From what I knew of him, I think he would've said it was the plan for him. He would say be sad and remember him; but....... Use that to remember time is short and live your life to the fullest--being the best person you can be.

I know news of this kind is very hard to accept. Thank you for all your kind words for David. It is apparant that he was as loved here as much as he loved his "cyber family" He was always talking about you guys and had a very genuine affection for you all. UrbanDK, please do have that pint for Dave. I know he will be sitting next to you, sipping a cold Guiness when you do!
I shall be around for the rest of the week and will try my best to answer any questions you may have.

Like the rest of you, I'm completely numb. From Ras David's first post on ETJ, I instantly liked him. The "newbie" Ras D's presence was like a breath of fresh air in this forum, and I found myself logging on each day hoping to see his signature and another of his clever, thoughtful posts. The man was incapable of pretenses, and his warmth, sincerity, and gentleness of spirit were contagious. Peace be with you, Ras!

Well.... only having been on this forum for about 2 months, I didn't really know RasD as well as most of you guys... my only really distinct memory, (other than the great poetry) was when I came on the forum and was talking about my love for chess and he had PM'd me asking me about how deep I was into chess... and we had decided that we would link up one day (whether via PM or on some other network) and play a game or two..... I was wondering why he didn't hit me back about it.... We'll now i know.... I wish all his family to accept my condolences... and RIP David

Jamcan just realised what the bad news was you had today, i never had the honour of being involved with a post with this gentleman, but my heart goes out to all his friends and family and all who knew him on here, you will be in my thoughts
