I am from Indiana, United States and I am doing a report on Jamaica for my marketing class. I have to pick a country and a product I have chosen Jamaica and I want to sell a type of clothing. I have chosen Baby Phat, Victoria Secret, and Tommy Hilfiger. I can't choose which one to use. I was wondering if you guys even have these clothes in Jamiaca. What kinds of clothes do you guys where in Jamiaca, can you tell me a website of a popular style of everyday clothes you guys wear. I have left the links to the sites of the clothing brands of Baby Phat, Victoria Secret, and Tommy Hilfiger, can someone please go to these sites and see if you would even wear these clothes and if not what should I do to change them????? Do a search for Cooyah and catch a fire clothing line. Jamaica is only a hour away from Florida by plane so the clothes that you mentioned have been down there for a while.

If I were you I would look into selling personal electronics such as phone accesories(headsets, covers, downloads of Jamaican music as ring tones) or food in a niche market (porridge shop, soup shop, sushi), that is two business you cannot go wrong in. The clothes thing is tired, higglers our term for micro business men and women, travel to Miami and Cayman Islands and purchase the latest clothes and sneakers and sell to the Jamaican public. Using technology to solve certain business needs down there could be a big money maker...a b2b web site that connects farmers and fisher men with hotels and restaurants in the entire carribean, you charge a listing fee for the seller and take a very small transaction fee on final sale, farmers use internet enabled cell phones (which the majority already have) can track and upload sales information, payment is by paypal or x.com, you could make some serious money. Got to think outside the box. Financial services market is big also not alot of people utilize derivatives or futures to hedge commodities, you offer the service and advertise it right you could make money also.

All designer names are available in Jamaica it just depends on where you are. Guys mostly however wear European designers since they wear their pants tight(not all) and other dress in baggy stuff like here.Hope this helped!

Hotteach I saw some items off Cooyah that I liked also, will pick up a couple in Kingston or Negril on my trip home in April. Cooyah has really come a long way but with catch a fire also becoming well known, one has to wonder how long Cooyah will have the license for the bob marley line.

Well I don't have the luxury of picking it up in JA but thank goodness for the internet!! Both sites ahve great things on them.
