How to speak patois

Hey everyone

I'm new to the forum and have a fascination with learning to speak patois.

I know a couple of words, but nothing major. Hopefully you all can help me out - I'd really appreciate it.

To start things off, is there a patois word for 'patience'? I have a feeling I'm going to need it. lol

Thanks,

Keypad

an hour?? wow, that's some punctual jamaican talking!

i've heard soon come from people i haven't seen since... it's just an expression that means i'll be back... eventually...

my husband won't use it with me b/c he knows that I am canadian and need him to quote a timeframe... soon, esp to a jamaican, is not compatible with my concept of a timeframe
