I want to know your experience on the biopsy Rootsgirl.

well, basically what they do in a colposcopy is look very up close with these binocular looking things and try to find areas of abnormality.... then they use these long needle nose looking things with like a scissors/clippers on the end to snip off small pieces of skin. some of my samples didn't really want to come off because according to my dr.... "i'm young and stretchy" lol. what was gross was the leaking afterwards....

is this too personal for a forum? cause i have more......

I've had a couple biopsies too and Roots is right....they really suck. Its painful and uncomfortable...specially for those of us who have NO stomach for medical stuff. I panic every time I go there, thank God I haven't had to go in the last year.

PB don't stress cause its not that bad, nothing a woman can't handle. Its just that if you thought a pap was uncomfortable, then this will not be your cup of tea. My doctor's office has posters of nature scenes on the ceiling above the bed.....like that's gonna calm my ass down! LMAO

it's kind of a wierd sensation PB....hard to describe how it really feels... it's not like there are a ton of nerve endings in your cervix, so it more feels like if you really have period cramps. they'll usually only take 2 or 3 samples, and it doesn't take any more than 10 minutes. afterwards i was pretty much fine, just felt like i had cramps for a while. they put this stuff on it afterwards that looks like it should be on a jamaican witch doctors shelf , very goopy and dark brown, to stop the bleeding.

when i got there the nurse had asked if i had eaten recently or taken any ibuprofen... i said no, so she gave me some pretzels and some fast acting pain reliever. so, i'd suggest eating something and taking a pain reliever before you in too.

NOW, has anybody had cryotherapy/surgery?? where they turn your cervix into a snowball??? That one really wasn't so bad actually, considering it was -60 degrees down there!!
