Yep I can feel it coming on! My throat aches right now . How do you medicate yourself, do you have any home remedies you can share??

My Papaw tought me his ole folks remedy for when your really congested.

Whip up 1 or 2 egg whites into almost a merangue(hmm can't member how to spell that at the moment, brain fart) add in sugar for taste and eat it. It works. I ate it last year when my little cousin got our whole family sick with the flu.

He told me he had pneumonia as a child and almost died and his momma made that and made him eat it and he got better.

Kinda like eatin a bowl of frosting, kinda sickening but it works. I was so congested and was almost to the point of pneumonia. My lungs were filling with fluid, they hurt to breath. My Papaw made me get up go in the kitchen and make up some to that and eat it ALL. I gagged it down, went back to bed and the next morning I could breath and no more pain or congestion.

Word?? I've never heard of that one. My sister used to give me acombo of honey, lemon juice and vinegar for a sore throat. I had to gargle and spit it out until I got to the last bit, then swallow the rest. Worked for my sore throat....

honey and garlic, nasty but it good. Make the garlic into a puree and mix with honey do the trick everytime

There was this other stuff that my Grenny made for me once when I was like 10 and I had the flu that cleared my sinuses immediatly upon the first sip.

We lived out in the country and she went out to the woods next to the house and got some fresh pine needles off a tree, boiled them in a pot with a sliced up lemon added honey and gave it to me to drink. Talk about quick acting! You know what it's like when you first put a Halls in you mouth and everything just opens up? Well multiply that by like a million. WHEEEWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eeeeeeeewwwwww i can only imagine what that must taste like. But I know that Garlic is a natural antibiotic

My Grenny always made me eat a spoonful of honey everyday, and my Papaw says you should drink a glass of vineger everyday. And I use garlic is just about everything I cook so I guess that why I don't get sick but once every 6 or 7 years.

Chicken soup is pretty good, rest, drink lots of water and how about start taking multivitamins.

Well it's gotten worse since I posted this thread. I sound like a James Earl Jones.... honestly. I sound like a man, my throat feels like I swallowed a whole scoth bonnet peper it burns. I feel achey, it hurts to cough uuuuuuuuuuuuurgh!!!!!

-Been taking BENYLIN for coughs and cold.
-Getting rubbed down with VICK VAPOUR RUB
-Hot Lemon Tea

I'm scared to Deja, I have a problem with raw eggs/egg whites.Stuff like Eggnog I do not drink.
But I was so desperate I boiled up some garlic and sweetened it with "honey" , my breath is reeking but oh well. Desperate times call or garlic
