Re: Wisdom Tooth Removal

i had all 4 wisdom teeth removed as a teenager. i had braces at the time and the orthodontist worried that the wisdom teeth would ruin the progress. i wish i had general anesthesia instead of nitrous oxide cause i was freaking out but too scared to say so. no one should ever be able to remember/feel their teeth being cracked and the pieces pulled out. it was horrible.

Re: Wisdom Tooth Removal

I had all 4 of mine removed at once too, and they were all impacted which means they all had to be dug out!! I was on a lot of drugs and anasthetic the whole time and I could still hear them chipping away and digging. It was my worst nightmare! And I can safely say I'd rather give birth 10 more times than go through that again!

Re: Wisdom Tooth Removal

I had all 3 wisdom tooth removed 1 year ago. The other one dont seem like it will ever come out.

But they put me under general anasthesic, when i woke up my mouth was in some much pain and a headache, they gave me a mirror to look in my mouth but i couldnt open my mouth to see anything. My throat was dry and i was feeling really thirsty.

That evening my mouth was swolen like a balloon. I had to take pain killings for a week, drink on nurishment, i absolutely hate soup but they cook me soup and forced me to drink it. I couldnt even drink the soup from the tiniest spoon and it burn my mouth.

The worst part about it i could feel the dissolvable stitches that they used to sow up my jaws. I was off work for 2 1/2 weeks and i lost 14 pounds.

Terrible situation to be in.

Re: Wisdom Tooth Removal

I had all 4 of mine removed with only nitrus and lidocaine. I actually heard one of my roots crack and break off as the tooth was pulled out. It didn't bother me at all. (Consider the source, though, I also love to watch the surgery channel ) If you are going to have it done this way, ask if you can bring a walkman and listen to music while they are hacking at you.

Re: Wisdom Tooth Removal

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed about 16 years ago. My insurance would'nt pay to be put to sleep so my Mom helped me pay for it. $150 back then. I said, " no way someone is ripin 4 teeth out of my face while I'm awake!!"

Now, I'm a dental assistant!!!!

I help to pull other peoples teeth out!!!
