Black People...
why are we like crabs in a barrel? It seems as if no one wants to see the other make it to the top? We never seem able to make a Collective Effort a Success. I am sick of it!

That's a said but true fact, our people are fast to complain about not ever getting ahead, but are never willing to help each other, and are always quick to put down those trying to come up.

Re: Black People...
It was brought to my attendion that everyone doesn't know the Crabs in a bucket analogy so I thought I'd post the explaination. If you've ever been crabbing you'll aready understand, if not here ya go.
OK When you catch crabs all you do is throw them in a bucket. They are alive and crawling around. Well the thing is this as the bucket fills they are trying to get out so they climb on each other. Well the thing in that none ever get out b/c every time one gets to the top and almost gets free, one of the other crabs will grab it and snatch it back into the bucket. And if you think about it that is what blacks do to each other. See someone doing better and then trash em, never give em a boost.

Re: Black People...
Two points.
First a little story. A nation I lived in once had citizens of lighter pigmentation than myself, commonly reffered to as "white". Everyday they would form a line to await the bus. The bus came and they all boarded quite orderly. A few months later they were still forming the line but the buses were few and far between. When the bus came there was a riot, people fighting to get in and pulling each other back/down. (true story)
Point No.2. If you are black, do you honestly consider yourself an "crab-like" person?. If not then the theory does not hold for "black" people.
It is true that people who suffer from depression and/or oppression are most likely to pass their hurt unto others if not treated/helped. It is quite like an abused child/boy growing up to become an abusive father and/or husband. It does not matter the colour of your skin. (My opinion of course)

Re: Black People...
If you associate with crabs can you complain if they claw at you? If your "sick of it" do something to change the situation. I'm black and I'm not a crab neither do I link with people who want to hold me back. Get rid of the baggage, surround yourself with positive people and keep away from crabs and buckets !

True. Misery loves company and will "dig a ditch" for you when given the opportunity. I distance myself from those type of people. They can watch and hate on me ad my sucess from the sideline.
I had an aquaintance that was a serial complainer. She was never happy and whenever she was down she wanted to take me with her. I used to share an office with her...notice I said used to. I moved to another office and now she is mad about that and feel betrayed. But you know what I am much happier.
