Re: I prefer Men/Woman from Mars

I prefer a woman from my native Jamaica, first and foremost because of the similarities in culture. There is virtually little or no "learning curve" so it makes for an easier assimilation into a relationship.
There would be little or no question about her cooking skills, and even if she didnt like to cook, I have no doubt she would know how.

Although obviously not apparent in a Jamaican women, I also like a woman with a deep spanish accent, similar to Selma Hayek or Penelope Cruz. I just looove that accent. Even though that alone would not cause me to date one, I still find the accent very alluring.

Regardless of the race, I love woman with strong long hair. Short hair business is not my style. Because of that, I am more so attracted to a Black woman with a tinge of Indian ancestry....yeah Yeah yeah...Like mah Mother.

Re: I prefer Men/Woman from Mars

I have one brother who will not date a Jamaican woman, even to save his life. He loves African American women thiugh, with a passion.
I have another brother who has NEVER dated a black woman. In fact, a few months ago, he finally married a beautiful young woman from the Czech Republic.

I could be wrong, but I think that one of the reasons that they didnt favor Jamaicans COULD BE because they BOTH attended predominantly White US high schools where they had little or no contact with Jamaican women. I Dunno. I could be DEAD WRONG though.

Re: I prefer Men/Woman from Mars

For years I dated men of my own race. Latino that is. Men from most latino cultures because of the cultural similarities, language, etc.

I stopped due to those same cultural similarities and their tendencies to be controlling and too jealous. I wanted something new something exciting!!

For the first time after about 10 years I dated a black man. A Jamaican man that is. The first Ja man I had ever dated. I was instantly hooked! lol

He was very attentive, caring, sweet and cooked for me. It was no longer the other way I around. I was the one being taken care of and it felt so good!!!

Till this day I continue to date Jamaican men that are very much attracted to my latina looks, ability to speak more than one language, long dark hair and slightly asian eyes.

Ultimately, I have learned that I absolutley love JA and black men and prefer them over latinos and white men for that matter.

To me caucasians lack flavor!!! LOL and as I say, the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice!! LOL

So you're preference is kinda like the opposite of CLuLu....She likes the difference in the culture and you like the similarity.

Hmmmmm... this could get ugly but here goes... I do tend to like black men... of any cultural background... and it is simply because they are what get my motor hummmmmmming just looking at them most of the time... Incredibly shallow I know but well we are visual creatures... Not to say that I don't find men of other races attractive but I do tend to lean toward the swarthy... love accents... and I like a man that takes care of his body... I've just never really found cornfed country whitebread boys that appealing... perhaps because that is what I grew up with and I like a little spice in my life????

Yes I have dated outside of my preferences and usually it is because they had some "characteristic" that stood out for me... Intelligence and humor are the most appealing to me.

So lets see....
You are White and you prefer Black men of ANY culture.

So is it safe to assume that you attraction for Black men is merely superficial and lacks no greater substance than what they look like on the outside?

And isn't it possible to find a cornfed country whitebread boys that appealing that could make you do cart-wheels and spice up your life forever?

So you dont think that you could smoke a ziggy and chilax with a guy from a totally different culture; especially considering that there are "Rastas" now from MANY OTHER race and cultures?

Most TRUE rastas that I know are humble, self assured people.

Are you sure you not confusing them with those co-called publicity, celebrity-type, reggarized entertainers who grow a dreadlocks and call themselves rastas?

I agree with the arrogance thing...but i also agree with what Alex said below...Alot of people claim to follow that faith, yet possess characteristics which contradict the whole movement.

My preference is black men, but i do like the latino/italian look of dark and handsome....

I find that people in the Caribbean are full of fun and very lively...i have met very few people who cant run jokes, but then because then some are not as laid back with certain things, so you gotta be aware of the kinda jokes you runback!
