Jamaican men reputation
Since I started dating my new bf who is Jamaican he is currently living in Jamaica. I am from the USA and we been talking for about 4 months it was by fate that I had previously planned a trip to Montego Bay before we even knew each other. Well when I found out he was there I had to meet him. Well I did but I noticed at the resort I was staying at a lot of the young men were hitting on me and other american women at the resort. I even heard some of the pick up lines that I read in another thread on this forumn lol. Any way everyone is warning me about him and no one knows him. Friends, family has something to say how all jamaican men are dogs and they just want to come here to the USA or they want money. Even my ex boyfriend who is also Jamaican said the same stuff he was born and raised in Jamaica but he resides now in my area where I ment him. He said my current bf will use me to come here. I have been on a lot of sites and I haven't read a lot of good input on Jamaican men. I do care for him a lot and I don't want to lose a good man over hearsay and gossip.

Re: Jamaican men reputation
Wow, how many times have I seen this on here...
It is a relationship... and any wise woman... or man for that matter just goes in with their eyes wide open... love is great... blind love is not.
So, if he seems good... and I don't mean the kind of "good" that we women tend to project onto a man because we want someone... I mean a really good man... then time will tell... fortunately it will also tell the other way... however, play your cards close to your vest until you really know him... just like you would or rather should with any man.

Isn't all love a risk? Well, initially of course. My Jamaican brothers can be dogs, but just have your antennas way up. Amazingly your ex-boyfriend gave you sound advice, that's neat.
Antennas... UP.

I'm usually a really good judge of character and he seems like a nice person. I will just keep my eyes wide open. I can't help but to pay attention even more closely to everything now that I found this site!

and even if you were naive and you got burnt and all things went bad.....I think any time you fall in love, you enjoy for some time, it is worth it
It is the best feeling walking down the street and not feeling the ground under your feet. if I were you, I would live up the present, not think about the future, just live it up.....and have fun.Wow, there cannot be anything bigger, maybe only if Juventus wins the Champions league and after all, all men are dogs, that is what I like about them

Re: Jamaican men reputation
^^live for the present and not think of the future?^^
Is this real sound advice?
in every aspect of our lives we need to think about our future.
our finacial future, retirement, our families future, career ect........... so why not ur personal love life? we wouldnt just "enjoy" the moment with any of these aspects in our lives without making plans for the future...just let the chips fall where they may!!??
Every move we make should be thought with our future in mind!

and who said that if i make a sensible decision today, I will not regret tomorrow?
I think there are too many sensible people thinking too much about the future in this world and too few dreamers....
and there are so few truly gorgeous and magical moments in life that I am not going to mees them up by thinking about the future as i can only see tomorrow.and I can be dead even by tomorrow so I want to enjoy tody...
