Well i get the instant email notifications to my phone from anyone who has replied to anything that i have...after i get all caught up with that, i just look around...

On my computer, any threads with new posts are shown in BOLD, the ones with nothing new are in regular print.

Here's my quickie version of the blue bar at the top of each page.
User CP is on the far left hand side of the blue bar and its where you can see your reputation points and comments. It also lets you access some links to edit your profile, options, avatar, etc.
SEARCH is also on that blue bar. What some people may or may not know is you can search for any word or phrase to find something on ETJ. But when you click on search, and the box opens you can use the "advanced search" to look for specific thread titles in specific parts of the forum. The general search doesn't work so well for titles.
Quick Links, also on the blue bar lets you do a ton of stuff! You can view who's online and what they're looking at, edit parts of your user control panel, get to your PM's, all kinds of stuff!
New Posts located on the blue bar allows you to view the MOST CURRENT posts pretty much in real time.
Below the blue bar at the top, there's another blue bar just under it which is specific to the thread you are in at that time. You can rate the thread, search it, etc.

Yea there's a setting somewhere in your profile options that can turn on or off your email notifications. I have them off because my inbox fills up too fast. |
