Rude People...tis the season for Grinches!!!

Sigh...in the past few months many different experiences have shown me how many nasty natures humans possess. Whether it's manipulative selfish natures, game players, backstabbers, emo self pitiers, ignorant people, and just plain rude people.

Oddly enough there is nothing like the Christmas season to bring out that side of people.

Now I've seen this at work, in my personal life, and just with random people around my area and throughout the city and world.

For example I was waiting for the elevator at the hospital and heard a family complaining about having to visit their sick mother at the hospital on Christmas day when they could be off having fun and doing better and much for fun things. One commented that they were just ready for her to go. While I don't doubt the strain long illnessess have on families...shouldn't you be thankful you still have the time to be with you loved one. Turned out the patient in question, who is a darling, is also on my unit...and is no where near ready to go. I had to resist the urge to throw scalpals at them when I walked by...I was pretty disgusted!!

Today Miss JC and I were in a store getting a few things done. A lady who had her kids in the car and was anxiously watching them through the window, was waiting to be served. Two ladies were working. The one helping us ditched us half way through a transaction to go talk on the phone about parties and facebook. She sat there ignoring the lady with the kids, while the lady who came to help us struggled. I'm pretty sure it was not her break, and I was appalled at the nerve of her, not to mention she was incredibly rude to us.

I've just noticed in many experiences in the past months, behaviour from different people in this world that just makes me ashamed of humanity. Where do people get off treating others like dirt? Stirring up problems and creating drama? Not appreciating their family and loved ones?

Not to mention all the people fighting over kids gifts in walmart...or getting road rage from traffic jammed city streets due to holiday traffic flow!!

LOL...but after a phone chat with Tinks about similar issues the other day...I'm gonna take a page from her book and learn to not react negativly to negativity..even if it's all over the place!!

Anyone else notice a Grinch like pattern in people this Christmas season?

Yep. I've been told on more than one occasion to "save it" when wishing people happy holidays. So, in turn I DID save it......and used it on people who deserve it and appreciate it.

I'm now reaping the rewards.

Don't pay them no mind Ash.

Re: Rude People...tis the season for Grinches!!!

i think its one of the most frustrating time of the year for some if not most people and a person who might otherwise be very nice might just be having a very bad day, you never know what kind of frustration one is going through, sometimes people say and or do things the dont mean or without thinking how it affects the other individual.... i'm not justifying being rude to others by any means though and i'm sorry you guys had these experiences.

I saw some of this, especially since I work in a mall. I also saw some very kind and generous actions this Christmas season.....things done in the spirit of love. I'd have to say all in all, I saw much more good then bad this year.

Re: Rude People...tis the season for Grinches!!!

i think ive been cured of grinchness this year. i think in recent years i just felt sorry for myself that i'd lost my mother who made my childhood full of great xmas memories, so perhaps subconsciously i refused to celebrate xmas again. but i think because of losing someone else this year its actually made me appreciate the people left and showing them they are thought of at this time of year. and being a miserable grinch just drags others down. grinches should hide away and not inflict their misery on others.
