I'm sure this is a really stupid question, probably the dumbest in the history of Everytingjamaican, but are there laundrymats in JA?
The reason I'm asking is because any time I've been there my man and I do our laundry by hand in his yard. He said not many people have washers in their homes because they can't afford it or there's no hook-ups. But I've never recalled seeing a laundrymat anywhere in Negril. Is there such a thing? Okay now you can all laugh at the silly white girl. ![]()

I actually found it quite relaxing to do laundry that way. If you have nothin but sunshine why not be outside in it!
And don't worry No Fear, my man knows everything I'm capable of. For me to be authentic wouldn't I have to LIVE there?? I wish.

Listen people Jamaica don't have laundromats in the way or forms of the US or Canadian mats, but we do have what are called dry cleaners. We drop it and come back for it.
Not for casual beddings, regular shirts etc cuz the price too expensive. But since we can't physically wash a bed comforter, jacket suit or a wedding gown by hand then these dry cleaners come in handy.

Thanks NF and KC. Thanks for not making fun of me! So if you go back to JA and see a woman walking with a sign that says
make sure you stop and say hi!

Some new insight have come my way of research. Yes Jamaica do have coin-up laundrymats for self serve conveniences. Equipped with washer/dryers/folding/heavy-loads etc.
Most of which are in Kingston, the capital city of Jamaica. However, there are alot of dry cleaning laundry centres as I explain before all over the island. One of which is the USA franchise http://www.drycleanusa.com/ They offer countless services.

JamCan, in Lucea (that is down the way from Negril) I have seen a dry cleaners or whatever it is, I'm not sure if it is for everyday laundry or just certainitems because I've never been there. I must say that lots of Jamaicans even if they have a washing machine they will still hand wash certain items such as their white cloths and underwear. They like to make sure their whites are white and sometimes a machine doesn't do it too well especially if something RUNS!!
