Jamaican curse words. What do they really mean?
Do you know what this really means/where the saying came from?????
This swear word that some of us JAMAICANS uses actually comes from back in the day in your Mothers/Grandmothers day when women did not have feminine pads as we do today. Women would use a white cotton cloth usually made of bird eye fabric or white callico fabric. Hence the term blood cloth~blood clat!

Re: *&%$#BLOOD CLAT* what does it really mean???
Whether it is English or Jamaican, no swear words should ever be posted on this board, especially on the title where it shows up every time someone posts on it. I find it very offensive and will never like that phrase. Whether you wanted to disseminate information regarding it's origin does not give you license to stretch the rules. What is this board coming to may I ask?

Re: *&%$#BLOOD CLAT* what does it really mean???
I read the title.. I said, Nooooo not Honeypye, we all have more class than that.. .. but I tell you, when Jamamicans (generally speaking) get vex at you, they can really cuss, they make it sooo personal, you feel the sting. imagine being call a "%^#$Blood Clat* ... I think it would be better just to be punch in the nose

Re: *&%$#BLOOD CLAT* what does it really mean???
I agree with you JAMiss. I know it wasn't posted to offend anyone, but if we are wondering where the guys went, this could be a reason why they don't participate as much as they use to... just a thought .. again we are all "friends" here, right? thanks, JaMiss

Re: *&%$#BLOOD CLAT* what does it really mean???
JamCan you don't have to call Ducani because when I posted it I tried to go back to edit the title because I thought of those who may get OFFENDED by it! I private messaged Ducani right after I posted it when I realized that I could not edit the tiltle. I asked him to edit the title for me to say something in the affect of... JAMAICAN SWEAR WORD est....
For those of you who I may have offened by this thread I am very sorry. I thought it was interesting when I did some research to find out what the word meant and the origin of it!!!
JM & PAZ I apologize as I stated in a post I do not use these words AT ALL in my day to day life!!!!
furthermore if my postings are the cause of the men of this site to not be posting, then maybe I should be the one to go!

Re: *&%$#BLOOD CLAT* what does it really mean???
JamCan I understand what you're saying and can appreciate it so if you think this needs to be deleted in the best interest of this great site then I support your decision!
As I stated before I did attempt to contact Ducani to edit/erase the title of the threard, but he has not gotten back to me as yet.
again my apologies,
