I know you said Why can't you just get over it, It turned my whole world around and i kind of like it I made by bed, and I sleep like a baby, With no regrets and I don't mind saying, It's a sad sad story That a mother will teach her daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger. And how in the world Can the words that I said Send somebody so over the edge That they'd write me a letter Saying that I better shut up and sing Or my life will be over |

Re: music...what it meant to you growing up ...even now
you want a song with lots of drums and precussion plus some killer horns and great wordings
feeling stronger every day ~ chicago I do believe in you and I know you believe in me, oh yeah, oh yeah. And now we realize love's not all that it's supposed to be, oh yeah, oh yeah. And knowing that you would have wanted it this way, I do believe I'm feelin' stronger every day. I know we really tried, together we had a love inside, oh yeah, oh yeah. So now the time has come for both of us to live on the run. oh yeah, oh yeah. And knowing that you would have wanted it this way, I do believe I'm feelin' stronger every day. After what you've meant to me, ooh baby now, I can make it easily. I know that we both agree the best thing to happen to you is the best thing that happened to me. Feelin' stronger every day, feelin' stronger every day. Feelin' stronger every day (you know I'm alright now), feelin' stronger every day (you know I'm alright now) these are the original **** from a band that pioneered awesome music not the watered down stuff corporate america demanded in the late 80's and early 90's you talking a trumpet, sax, trombone, keyboardist (sometimes two), guitar, bass guitar, a drummer and a brazilian precussionist damn! these guys played with hendrix, janis joplin, and clive davis

listening to this right now:
by your side ~ sade You think I'd leave your side baby? You know me better than that You think I'd leave down when your down on your knees? I wouldn't do that I'll do you right when your wrong I-----ohhh, ohhh If only you could see into me oh, when your cold I'll be there to hold you tight to me When your on the outside baby and you can't get in I will show you, your so much better than you know When your lost, when your alone and you can't get back again I will find you darling I'll bring you home If you want to cry I am here to dry your eyes and in no time you'll be fine You think I'd leave your side baby You know me better than that You think I'd leave you down when your down on your knees I wouldn't do that I'll do you right when your wrong I-----I, ohhhh, ohhh If only you could see into me Oh when your cold I'll be there To hold you tight to me Oh when your alone I'll be there by your side baby [repeat 1x]

Re: music...what it meant to you growing up ...even now
i'm all about good music milady
anything dat moves the soul, causes the toes to tap, a man like me who can't sing but belt out in song here's someting from the more soulful side of reggae many rivers to cross ~ jimmy cliff Many rivers to cross But I can`t seem to find my way over Wandering I am lost as I travel along The white cliffs of Dover Many rivers to cross and it`s only my will That keeps me alive I`ve been licked, washed up for years and I merely survive because of my pride. And this loneliness won`t leave me alone It`s such a drag to be on your own My woman left and she didn't say why Well I guess I have to try. Many rivers to cross but just where to begin I`m playing for time There`ll be times I find myself thinking Of committing some dreadful crime. I`ve got many rivers to cross But I can`t seem to find my way over Wandering I am lost as I travel along The white cliffs of Dover Many rivers to cross and it`s only my will That keeps me alive I`ve been licked, washed up for years and, I merely survive because of my pride.

Re: music...what it meant to you growing up ...even now
based on psalm 137:
RIVERS OF BABYLON ~ The Melodians By the rivers of Babylon Where we sat down And there we wept When we remembered Zion But the wicked carried us away in captivity Required from us a song How can we sing King Alfa song In a strange land Cause the wicked carried us away in captivity Required from us a song How can we sing King Alfa song In a strange land Sing it out loud Sing a song of freedom sister Sing a song of freedom brother We gotta sing and shout it We gotta talk and shout it Shout the song of freedom now So let the words of our mouth And the meditation of our heart Be acceptable in Thy sight Over I So let the words of our mouth And the meditation of our heart Be acceptable in Thy sight Over I Sing it again We've got to sing it together Everyone of us together By the rivers of Babylon...
